KUALA LUMPUR, 13 November 2024 – TM proudly announced its double victory at the National Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Awards 2023, held recently at Courtyard by Marriott, Kuala Lumpur. TM received both the Communication Sector Award and the Best Chief Executive Officer for OSH – Private Sector, underscoring its exceptional commitment to occupational safety and health.

This recognition highlights TM’s proactive approach to OSH, which has resulted in zero fatalities along with a significant reduction in accident rates and Lost Time Injury (LTI) days in 2023.

KUALA LUMPUR, 11 NOVEMBER 2024 – TM Global, TM’s wholesale business arm, will expand its Klang Valley Data Centre (KVDC) in Cyberjaya and Iskandar Puteri Data Centre (IPDC) in Johor, addressing the growing demand for domestic and international data hosting services. 

This is the next phase in TM’s strategic roadmap to grow its infrastructure ecosystem and position Malaysia as a preferred digital hub in Southeast Asia, aligning with its aspiration to become a Digital Powerhouse by 2030. These expansions and TM’s partnership with Nxera to develop a new, hyperconnected, AI-ready data centre, lays the foundation for digital services such as cloud, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. 

Scheduled for commercial operations in 2025, the second phase of both KVDC and IPDC will deliver a combined IT load of about 20MW. The expansion will meet Uptime Institute’s Tier-III standards, and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver rating for long-term sustainability, a globally recognised green building certification.

Khairul Liza Ibrahim, TM Global’s Executive Vice President, said, “KVDC and IPDC are integral infrastructures in Malaysia’s digital ecosystem, serving as international gateways and interconnected points to support 5G networks. This second phase of our data centre expansion will feature sustainable designs, boosting our capacity to support hyperscalers, OTT players, cloud and next generation AI providers, as well as enterprises.” 

TM Global’s data centres are complemented by seven regional Edge Facilities located throughout the country. These support high-performance computing and co-location services to bring content closer to end-users with minimal latency.

“We have further enhanced our data hosting services with a recent acquisition of the Facilities-based Operator license in Singapore, allowing us to provide seamless, secure data centre-to-data centre connectivity through our extensive domestic fibre optics network and international submarine cable systems. This enables us to meet the growing connectivity demands across the region, linking data centres from Thailand to Malaysia, Singapore, and Batam in Indonesia,” Khairul Liza emphasised.

The collaboration includes UNI5G Postpaid Biz and Touch ‘n Go eWallet Soundbox packages, which will be offered to more than one million MSMEs nationwide and will be available via in-app media and Unifi Stores.

As the preferred digital partner for MSMEs, Unifi Business will deliver high-speed, low latency 5G connectivity. To officiate the partnership, a memorandum of understanding was exchanged between Kelvin Lee, Unifi’s General Manager for Fixed Mobile Convergence and Emilio Sta Maria, TNG Digital’s Head of Loyalty & Engagement at the Setapak Unifi Store. The event was witnessed by Mohamad Yusman Ammeran, Unifi Business’ Vice President and Freddie Lee, TNG Digital’s Head of Merchant Services.

KUALA LUMPUR, 30 October 2024 – TM One, TM’s enterprise and Government sector business solutions arm, has announced a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education (MOE) to enhance Malaysia’s digital competencies, equipping students and educators from vocational colleges and secondary schools with essential digital skills that align with industry standards.

The partnership, which was recently formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MOE’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Division, targets critical areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, cybersecurity, and smart agriculture solutions. MARANG, 14 OCTOBER 2024TM via TM One, its enterprise and Government sector business solutions arm, has launched the first Global Business Services (GBS) Centre in the East Coast. The Centre leverages advanced technologies, including AI and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), to strategically address service delivery and digital business capabilities, as well as strengthen the region’s attractiveness in encouraging new investments.

Located in Marang, Terengganu, the Centre was officiated by YAB Dato' Seri Ir. Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, Terengganu’s Menteri Besar. Other state leaders in attendance were Haji Mohd Nurkhuzaini Bin Ab. Rahman, Chairman of the Committee for Digital Economy, New Income, Trade, Industry and Green Technology, Ariffin Deraman, Chairman of the Committee for Entrepreneurship, Human Resources, Cooperatives, and Consumer Affairs and Zulkifly Isa, District Officer of Marang.

Built on a secure cloud-based platform and leveraging AI technology, this solution provides features like conversational AI, virtual agents and digital channels, enabling swift and efficient response via multichannel interactions. Contributing to the economic and digital development of Marang and surrounding communities, this Centre reflects our Digital Powerhouse aspirations in empowering local talent ecosystem for digital inclusivity across the nation.”

Positioned between major cities like Kuantan and Kuala Terengganu, the Centre is equipped to handle large-scale projects for diverse organisations. These offerings can be customised to organisations’ needs, integrating with existing systems to ensure perpetual service delivery to the end users. Starting with an initial capacity of 300 seats, the Centre is designed to scale up to 1,500 seats as demand grows. It is equipped with multi-lingual capabilities in Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin, Tamil, and Arabic, helping organisations cater to diverse customer demographics.

The Centre is slated to serve key state agencies including Syarikat Air Terengganu (SATU), the licensed water supply operator for 1.2 million residents in the state. This is an extension of TM One’s existing management of SATU’s Contact Centre and will cover queries across voice and digital channels such as Sistem Pengurusan Aduan Awam (SISPA), Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN), and social media platforms.

Seoul, South Korea, 1 October 2024 – TM Global, the domestic and international wholesale business arm of Telekom Malaysia (TM), is pleased to announce the extension of its collaboration with Radian Arc, global cloud infrastructure provider, for another two years. This continued collaboration will focus on expanding TM’s cloud gaming offerings at wholesale level.

Building on the successful collaboration initiated in 2022, the extended collaboration will see TM Global and Radian Arc further enhance Malaysia's cloud gaming landscape, as well as expanding these services to other regions including Middle East and African countries. The extended agreement will continue to leverage on Radian Arc’s GPU Edge technology complemented by low-latency SHAKS Gamepad controller developed by Radian Arc’s South Korea-based partner, AKSys Co. This will enable a seamless gaming experience and boost TM Global’s capability in offering high quality, real-time applications.

The signing took place in Seoul with the presence of YB Fahmi Fadzil, Malaysia’s Minister of Communications, who arrived in South Korea for a working visit. TM was represented by Khairul Liza Ibrahim, TM Global’s Executive Vice President, while signing on behalf of Radian Arc was its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), David Cook.

This will enable TM to offer high-performance solutions for various applications such as Large Language Model (LLM) training, AI inferencing, and Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS). These new offerings will empower our customers with scalable, cloud-based resources that drive innovation for their digital transformation journey.

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 August 2024 – TM announces the launch of “Sejuta Suara, Satu Ritma, Jiwa Merdeka,” campaign in celebration of Hari Kebangsaan and Hari Malaysia 2024. It is the first AI-powered platform that enables Malaysians to perform the iconic patriotic anthem “Gemuruh Jiwa” in a wide array of local languages and dialects, bringing cultural diversity to the forefront.

The platform is a first of its kind in Malaysia, combining advanced AI technology with a deep appreciation for the country’s multilingual tapestry.
