KUALA LUMPUR, 23 DECEMBER 2024 – TM has announced a strategic partnership with Perodua to advance electric vehicle (EV) development, digital innovation, and sustainable growth, aligning with Malaysia’s vision to create a high-value, competitive automotive sector under the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030).

Formalised during a signing ceremony between Amar Huzaimi Md. Deris, TM’s Group Chief Executive Officer and Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, Perodua’s President and Chief Executive Officer, the collaboration covers four strategic areas, namely: Hyperconnected Network, Advancing Digital Technology, Enriching Customer Experience, and Environmental Sustainability.

TM via TM One, its enterprise and government sector solutions arm, aims to upgrade Perodua’s infrastructure, providing fixed and wireless connectivity including SD-WAN solutions for dealer networks, private 5G for automotive applications, and smart manufacturing technologies to improve production. These will enhance Perodua’s operational capabilities, streamline data management, and support its future expansion. TM One will also leverage its Cloud, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and AI capabilities to provide initiatives for smart manufacturing, GPU as a Service, EV and autonomous driving technologies.

Additionally, TM and Perodua aim to expand their market reach and brand visibility through co-created products and innovative go to market strategies. This includes customised infotainment systems, smart mapping solutions, and joint marketing using digital tools to reach new customer segments. TM and Perodua are also committed to environmental sustainability, collaborating on clean energy solutions for EV charging infrastructure and waste reduction to align with Malaysia’s environmental goals. Additionally, through workforce training, R&D, and sustainable practices, the partnership will foster a culture of innovation to enable a digitally connected and environmentally responsible future in Malaysia's automotive sector.

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 DECEMBER 2024 – TM has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PETRONAS through its digital arm PETRONAS Digital Sdn Bhd (PDSB), and clean energy arm Gentari Sdn Bhd (Gentari), to drive digital transformation and sustainable innovation for industries and the nation.

Under this collaboration, TM and PETRONAS will explore new revenue streams through the expansion of product offerings to enterprise and consumer markets, and drive growth and innovation through data centre, advanced cloud and connectivity for Malaysian businesses. The integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Internet of Things (IoT)-based solutions is expected to optimise city services, improve operational efficiency, and enhance public services, contributing to a smarter and more sustainable future.

The MoU was exchanged between Megawati Norhashim, Vice President, Enterprise Business, TM One; Ts. Shaharuddin Hamid Mustapha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), PDSB; and Shah Yang Razalli, Deputy CEO & Chief Green Mobility Officer, Gentari; The exchange was witnessed by Shazurawati Abd Karim, Executive Vice President for TM One on behalf of TM; Ir. Mohd Yusri Mohamed Yusof, Senior Vice President, Project Delivery & Technology; and Izwan Ismail, Vice President of Group Technology & Commercialisation on behalf of PETRONAS and Gentari.

The partnership between Gentari and TM further explores the integration of clean energy solutions through solar and EV charging in TM facilities.

KUALA LUMPUR, 17 December 2024 – TM confirms a recent cable theft incident involving our contractors and employees in Tanjung Bungah, Penang. We are fully cooperating with the authorities to facilitate their investigation. As the matter is still ongoing, we are unable to comment further at this time.

TM holds zero tolerance for any misconduct and will not hesitate to take firm and appropriate action based on the investigation findings, in line with our commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability throughout the organisation.

Cable theft is a serious offense that endangers lives, disrupts essential services that Malaysians rely on daily, and impacts the community. We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities immediately by calling 999 or visiting the nearest police station.

TM is committed to ensuring the security and reliability of our nation’s digital infrastructure, and we will continue to collaborate closely with the authorities to prevent such incidents in the future. KUALA LUMPUR, 16 December 2024 – TM announced at least RM4 million allocation, including cash assistance, to support immediate flood relief efforts for affected customers, communities, and employees nationwide. This is in support of the Sumbangan Ihsan MADANI initiative, aimed at ensuring timely support for those in need.

TM installed complimentary Wi-Fi services at various flood relief centres (PPS) to ensure uninterrupted communication for flood victims and PPS’ administration. At the same time, TM’s network restoration team is working tirelessly to restore services for customers impacted by the recent monsoon flood especially in the East Coast region. This involves efforts to immediately divert key network elements for infrastructure that have been destroyed by the flood to minimise service downtime for the Government, enterprises and consumers.

TM understands the challenges faced by the flood victims. Therefore, to ease their hardship, TM is committed to provide additional supports for the affected Unifi Home customers which include:

                     Free replacement of damaged Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and network components,

                     A one (1) month subscription rebate for affected customers, and

                     An extension of credit terms to 60 days without service suspension.

Through its social impact foundation, Yayasan TM (YTM) mobilised medical aid, food and other necessities with the support of its social impact partners. As Co-Secretariat and a member of the GLC/GLIC Disaster Response Network (GDRN) coalition, YTM assisted over 18,400 individuals via various initiatives including the MOF-GDRN Bantu Fund, to assist affected communities.

Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, Group Chief Executive Officer of TM, emphasised the company’s dedication during this time of need. “We stand in solidarity with our customers, communities, and employees during these challenging times. Beyond restoring connectivity, our focus is on providing meaningful assistance to those affected, ensuring they can rebuild their lives with greater resilience.

“We deeply appreciate the patience and understanding of our customers as we work to restore our networks, despite challenges due to power outages and damaged equipment in certain locations. Rest assured, our dedicated teams are fully committed to resolve these as swiftly as possible. To bolster our efforts, we have deployed the 56 Rejimen Semboyan Pakar Telekom Askar Wataniah, a team of TM volunteers, to provide on-ground assistance, deliver emergency services, and expedite restoration works.

“TM is grateful to serve alongside the Ministry of Communications, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA), Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) and GDRN members in supporting collective efforts to assist communities in need. We extend our heartfelt thanks to these agencies and social impact partners for their dedication and collaboration in ensuring timely and effective support.

“Through these partnerships, we supported more than 28,000 individuals via various disaster relief and preparedness programmes, ensuring faster distribution of aid across the country. We remain steadfast in our efforts to restore connectivity and essential telecommunications services and aiding recovery for those affected by the floods," concluded Amar.

Earlier last week, Amar visited flood-affected areas in Kelantan and Terengganu, including the Central Disaster Operations Control Centre (PKOB) in Kota Bharu. During his visit, he handed over additional care packages to be stored at the control centre. These care packages will be mobilised to affected areas and distributed to the flood victims as needed.

In support of its employees, TM launched an internal crowdfunding initiative to help provide affected Warga TM with essential home amenities, ensuring they could resume their daily lives as quickly as possible. This initiative aligns with TM's "Ini Cara Kita" culture statement, embodying the spirit of caring and togetherness. Additionally, TM extended financial aid to 131 Warga TM whose homes were damaged by the floods. Early flood aid and damage claims have already been disbursed, with further assistance underway.

The company urges everyone to prioritise safety during this challenging season and remains committed to restoring essential services and aiding long-term recovery.

KUALA LUMPUR, 13 December 2024 – TM, Malaysia’s telecommunication leader, has further strengthened its core capabilities by ramping up its digital infrastructure to enable GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS). Hosted entirely within the country, this initiative aims to bolster Malaysia's AI infrastructure and accelerate digital transformation. The solution was unveiled following the launch of the National Artificial Intelligence Office (NAIO) by YAB Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The first of its kind in Malaysia, this innovative solution leverages NVIDIA GPU technology hosted at TM’s Uptime Tier-III certified data centres. TM’s GPUaaS provides low-latency, real-time, high-performance AI computing capabilities while ensuring data sovereignty and security, reinforcing Malaysia’s aspirations to become a leader in AI innovation within ASEAN.

TM’s GPUaaS eliminates the need for capital-intensive investments, providing scalable and on-demand access to cutting-edge resources. Backed by TM’s nationwide fibre optic network and edge computing facilities, it seamlessly integrates GPU resources with high-speed connectivity to power AI-driven applications such as:

                     AI for Public Services: Real-time AI Avatars providing information for citizens.

                     Healthcare Diagnostics: AI-powered imaging and analytics.

                     Autonomous Vehicles: Real-time traffic and navigation systems.

                     Immersive Media: AR/VR content creation with real-time rendering.

KUALA LUMPUR, 26 November 2024 – Telekom Malaysia Berhad (“TM” or “the Group”) announced its financial results for the first nine months of 2024, reporting a steady 7.9% increase in Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) year-to-date (3Q YTD 2024), reaching RM1.81 billion on the back of RM8.66 billion in revenue. This result underscores the Group’s ability to sustain stable revenue and maintain resilience amidst intensifying competitive pressures and a challenging operating environment, positioning the company for a strong close to the year.

The Group recorded a Profit after Tax and Non-Controlling Interests (PATAMI) of RM1.29 billion, which is lower than the previous year due to a one-off tax credit received in 2023. Excluding the one-off tax credit and foreign exchange impact, the Group’s PATAMI shows solid growth year-on-year. Meanwhile, Capital expenditure (CAPEX) in 3Q YTD 2024 amounted to RM767 million, representing 8.9% of total revenue.

Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, TM Group Chief Executive Officer said, “The Group continues to demonstrate resilience, with an encouraging YTD increase in EBIT, driven by continuous business improvements, cost optimisation, and operational efficiencies. “Our broadband subscriber base continues to grow steadily, driven by the Unifi UniVerse campaign - our best convergence offerings to date, further solidifying our position as the leading convergence provider with the only quad-play services in Malaysia. Unifi Strengthens Position as the Market Leader in Converged Services

Unifi recorded a 1.6% increase YTD in fixed broadband subscribers, reaching 3.167 million in 3Q YTD 2024. This growth demonstrates Unifi’s effective strategy in acquiring and retaining customers driven by its UniVerse campaign, including the Unifi Device Fiesta offering. The mobile segment has also expanded, fuelled by enhanced postpaid and prepaid offerings; the 200GB 5G Monthly Data Pass for just RM1 for UNI5G Postpaid 39 customers, and the UNI5G WOW Prepaid plan with 5G and 4G data. Moreover, Unifi TV’s Aneka Plus Pack was also relaunched to include Vidio, Indonesia’s leading streaming platform, providing customers with even more entertainment options.

TM One Drives Digital Transformation for Enterprises and Government

TM One, the Group’s enterprise and Government sector business solutions arm, recorded a 2.0% increase in revenue, reaching RM2.12 billion in 3Q YTD 2024 with improved contributions from digital services and key customer projects. During the quarter, TM One drove the successful Private 5G network deployment at PETRONAS LNG Complex Bintulu and subsequently delivered the first 5G Private Campus Network in Malaysia at the Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) for the PETRONAS-UTP 5G Innovation Lab. Additionally, it partnered with KPJ Healthcare Bhd to deliver advanced Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) Internet Services integrated with enhanced firewall capabilities to accelerate KPJ’s digital transformation.

TM One also launched the first AI-enabled Global Business Services (GBS) Centre in the East Coast to foster investment growth in the East Coast Economic Corridor. It further strengthens its commitment to empowering the local talent ecosystem and promoting digital inclusivity through a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education to enhance Malaysia’s digital competencies via TVET programmes. TM Global Strengthens Malaysia’s Position as a Digital Hub for the Region

TM Global, the Group’s wholesale business arm recorded a positive quarterly growth, with a 4.7% increase in revenue in Q3 2024 to RM787.0 million, driven by the increased demand for international data as well as the expansion of high-speed broadband and 5G infrastructure. It has deployed fibre optic network hubs in Sarawak, helping to bridge the digital divide and promote greater digital inclusion.

Recently, TM Global announced the data centre expansion of its Klang Valley Data Centre (KVDC) in Cyberjaya and the Iskandar Puteri Data Centre (IPDC) in Johor to deliver a combined IT load of about 20MW to cater to rising domestic and international data hosting needs. Furthermore, it upgraded its northern edge capabilities to bring content closer to users. These initiatives, along with submarine cable expansion, reflect TM Global’s commitment to meeting the growing needs of global carriers, hyperscalers, and technology providers, while supporting the broader growth of the nation’s digital ecosystem.

KUALA LUMPUR, 18 November 2024 – Yayasan TM (YTM) officially launched its "Yayasan TM TVET Madani" initiative, a comprehensive collaboration aimed at enhancing the employability and skill sets of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (“TVET”) graduates. This initiative underscores YTM's commitment to supporting the government's call for industry players to play a crucial role in improving the employability rate and contributing to the nation's digital transformation.

YTM committed RM3.5 million over the next three years to drive this collaborative effort. RM1.5 million will be used to sponsor the fees of deserving TVET students. Additionally, RM1.5 million was invested in enhancing digital and fibre network labs across four key institutions while another RM500,000 was spent to develop new modules designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and the needs of the industry.

Ainol Shaharina Sahar, Director of YTM commented, "We believe that the future of Malaysia lies in the hands of our youth, and their education is a cornerstone of our nation’s progress. This initiative represents more than just an investment in education and talent - it is a powerful example of what can be achieved through effective private-public partnerships. By working closely with the government and educational institutions, we are creating opportunities that not only align academic learning with industry needs but also nurture the digital talent crucial for the nation’s growth. This is in line with TM's aspiration to become a Digital Powerhouse by 2030, ensuring our graduates are well-equipped with the skills and innovation mindset to thrive in the digital economy.”

The launch ceremony, held at Politeknik Ungku Omar (“PUO”) in Perak, was officiated by YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, Minister of Higher Education. He visited the refurbished digital lab at PUO and proceeded to simultaneously inaugurate the other three digital and fibre labs at Politeknik Sultan Idris Shah (Selangor), Politeknik Mersing (Johor) and Kolej Komuniti Ampang (Kuala Lumpur).

“YTM celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and since its establishment, educational excellence has been its focus. YTM supports Malaysia’s digital education agenda and prioritises education equality for all. By leveraging these partnerships, we can create a greater impact within the community and drive Malaysia forward in the digital age. This aligns with the global agenda of UN Sustainable Development Goals," added Ainol.

Recognising the importance of employment opportunities, YTM has also committed to facilitating job placements for up to 400 TVET graduates annually. The enhanced TVET curriculum offers various industrial certifications, including cybersecurity (CompTIA Security+), software testing (ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level), and cloud computing (Cloud Alpha Edge) through the Digital Lab. Under the Fibre Lab certification, students will receive training in CA-1C (Internal Fibre Network), CA-2C (External Fibre Network), and pole proficiency.

By equipping TVET graduates with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive in the digital economy, YTM is playing a pivotal role in shaping a future-ready workforce that will power a more digital nation.
