TM ONE-USIM COLLABORATION TO ENHANCE UNIVERSITY’S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND IMPROVE DIGITAL LEARNING EXPERIENCES
TM One, the business-to-business arm of TM, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) for a strategic partnership to enhance the university’s digital transformation and improve student experiences in digital learning.
Officiated on 6 March, the MOU was signed by Professor Dato’ Dr. Sharifudin Md. Shaarani, Vice Chancellor of USIM and Shazurawati Abd Karim, Executive Vice President, TM One.
To support USIM’s smart innovation journey, the partnership will be anchored on three (3) pillars, namely: the co-creation of an innovation ecosystem, talent development, and the sharing of insights on higher education and business trends – with the goal of developing USIM into a smart university.
Developing these pillars will allow USIM to pave its way towards a more seamless digital learning experience and improve its student experience processes. This includes online examinations, IT integration, security of sensitive data and intellectual property, smart solutions on campus, and end-to-end mobility solutions. Most importantly, this partnership will enable a more collaborative learning approach between USIM’s faculty and students, aligning the university to the needs of today’s global learners.
Professor Dato’ Dr. Sharifudin said, ”We are pleased to partner TM One in inculcating a data-first and digital-first mindset among our students, faculty and staff, which aligns us with the goals of MyDIGITAL and the Government’s digital aspirations. Through this partnership, we aim to tap into the extensive expertise of TM’s One solutions, services and professional insights to strengthen our technological and IT talent capabilities as we address the evolving needs of digital education. This collaboration comes at a timely and necessary stage of our development and will allow us to springboard to the next phase of our role in empowering future leaders and game-changers.”
Drawing on its broad range of solutions, TM One will support USIM’s digital transformation plan in five (5) different clusters; Smart Governance, Smart Infrastructure, Smart Services, Smart Learning and Smart Lifestyle.
Shazurawati said, “We are excited to be a part of USIM’s smart transformation journey and to work alongside them in reshaping their digital capabilities. Universities are at a critical turning point where they must embrace digitalisation or risk being left behind. TM ONE COLLABORATES WITH PLANMALAYSIA TO ACCELERATE LOCAL SMART CITIES
KUALA LUMPUR, 29 NOVEMBER 2023 – TM One, the enterprise and government sector business solutions arm of TM, has entered into a collaboration with PLANMalaysia to enable local city councils harness smart innovations and create sustainable, efficient, and connected urban communities. The collaboration is the next phase in TM One’s efforts to accelerate the nation’s smart city aspirations and improve urban living across the country. As part of this collaboration, 29 local councils that were awarded as part of the Malaysia Smart City Recognition Programme during World Town Planning Day 2023, will have access to TM One’s Proof of Concept trials (POCs). Among our recent success stories were Smart City projects in Ipoh, Pengerang, Seberang Prai, Kulai, Port Dickson and Subang Jaya, which experienced reduced time in traffic, lower carbon emissions, and improved response efficiency through solutions such as TM One’s Smart Traffic Management and Smart Surveillance.” Building on these successes, TM One will be offering POCs for the following services: 1. Unified Enforcement System – automation and insight analysis of various local council operation enforcement services that help local councils manage larger communities better; 2. Smart City App – a one stop app for local councils’ e-government services; and 3. Smart Workforce – a system that helps local councils manage field teams in real-time. These services will help councils in their journey towards becoming full-fledged smart cities, as well as improve overall efficiency in their operations and services to their communities. “Through these POCs, we aim to help the government implement Smart Services in more locations, bringing these technologies closer to everyday Malaysians and improving their way of life. This reflects TM’s role in powering a digital nation and enabling transformation for communities, businesses and Government,” concluded Shazurawati.
TM ONE & SIRIM ACADEMY PARTNERSHIP BOOSTS CYBERSECURITY AND AI GOVERNANCE IN MALAYSIA
KUALA LUMPUR, 6 November 2025 – TM One, TM’s enterprise and government sector solutions arm, has signed a strategic Collaboration Agreement with SIRIM Academy, a subsidiary of SIRIM Berhad, to advance Malaysia’s capabilities in information security, artificial intelligence (AI) governance, and workforce certification. The partnership combines TM One’s expertise in cybersecurity and managed services with SIRIM Academy’s recognised strengths in training, consultancy, standards development and personnel certification. Together, the two organisations will support enterprises and government agencies in closing compliance gaps, adopting global best practices, and building resilience in the digital economy. The collaboration focuses on certification and workforce readiness, supporting organisations to comply with Information Security Management Systems (ISMS, ISO/IEC 27001) and the newly introduced AI Management System (ISO/IEC 42001:2023). TM One will provide operational security capabilities for monitoring and incident response, while SIRIM Academy will deliver professional certification programmes aligning with standards requirements and national frameworks. To ensure compliance, organisations can further leverage TM One’s Managed Security Services including its Security Operations Centre (SOC), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Managed Detection and Response (MDR), and Threat Intelligence, which offers continuous protection. The agreement also facilitates joint go-to-market opportunities, with TM One or SIRIM Academy leading client engagements as needed. The collaboration was formally made through an exchange of documents between Shanti Jusnita Johari, TM One’s Executive Vice President, and Dr. Mohd Bakri bin Jali, SIRIM Academy’s Chief Executive Officer (Covering), symbolising the start of a shared commitment to advance Malaysia’s digital trust and governance. TM ONE AND SARAWAK DIGITAL ECONOMY CORPORATION (SDEC) BERHAD EXTEND COLLABORATION TO SPUR STATE’S DIGITAL ECONOMY
KUALA LUMPUR & KUCHING, 26 DECEMBER 2024 – TM One, TM’s enterprise and government sector solutions arm, and Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC) have announced the next phase in their strategic partnership to elevate Sarawak’s digital economy, digital society, and government services through enhanced connectivity. The parties recently exchanged a master service agreement to expand Sarawak’s digital infrastructure, aimed at enhancing connectivity and accelerating the adoption of advanced technologies and smart services in driving the state’s digital transformation. The collaboration aligns with the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy and Post-COVID Development Strategy 2030. This collaboration includes TM One’s Metro-E solution, a flexible, secure, and high-performance bandwidth connectivity scalable to up to 10 Gbps. Its dedicated access for critical applications, proactive security monitoring and nationwide coverage addresses the service levels needed for enterprises and government agencies alike. Shazurawati Abd Karim, TM One’s Executive Vice President, said, “We are pleased to partner with SDEC in advancing Sarawak’s digital transformation.
