TM ONE-USIM COLLABORATION TO ENHANCE UNIVERSITY’S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND IMPROVE DIGITAL LEARNING EXPERIENCES
TM One, the business-to-business arm of TM, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) for a strategic partnership to enhance the university’s digital transformation and improve student experiences in digital learning.
Officiated on 6 March, the MOU was signed by Professor Dato’ Dr. Sharifudin Md. Shaarani, Vice Chancellor of USIM and Shazurawati Abd Karim, Executive Vice President, TM One.
To support USIM’s smart innovation journey, the partnership will be anchored on three (3) pillars, namely: the co-creation of an innovation ecosystem, talent development, and the sharing of insights on higher education and business trends – with the goal of developing USIM into a smart university.
Developing these pillars will allow USIM to pave its way towards a more seamless digital learning experience and improve its student experience processes. This includes online examinations, IT integration, security of sensitive data and intellectual property, smart solutions on campus, and end-to-end mobility solutions. Most importantly, this partnership will enable a more collaborative learning approach between USIM’s faculty and students, aligning the university to the needs of today’s global learners.
Professor Dato’ Dr. Sharifudin said, ”We are pleased to partner TM One in inculcating a data-first and digital-first mindset among our students, faculty and staff, which aligns us with the goals of MyDIGITAL and the Government’s digital aspirations. Through this partnership, we aim to tap into the extensive expertise of TM’s One solutions, services and professional insights to strengthen our technological and IT talent capabilities as we address the evolving needs of digital education. This collaboration comes at a timely and necessary stage of our development and will allow us to springboard to the next phase of our role in empowering future leaders and game-changers.”
Drawing on its broad range of solutions, TM One will support USIM’s digital transformation plan in five (5) different clusters; Smart Governance, Smart Infrastructure, Smart Services, Smart Learning and Smart Lifestyle.

TM One and Digital Johor empower Johor with JASS smart application
New digital platform for Johor towards achieving the State’s aspiration of ‘Bangsa Johor Bestari, Ke Arah Kehidupan Lestari’ Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) through TM One, its enterprise and public sector business solutions arm together with Digital Johor Sdn Bhd (Digital Johor), a subsidiary of Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor Sdn Bhd, today officially launched ‘Jendela Aplikasi Servis dan Solusi’ (JASS) smart application towards realising the State Government’s initiatives of Digitalising Johor. Commenting on the launch, Azhar Omar said, “We are proud to announce the official launch of JASS application hub, designed to support the digital lifestyle of the local communities particularly in Johor as well as tourists through a single platform. This collaboration with Digital Johor provides the opportunity for TM to demonstrate our capabilities, through TM One, as the strategic enabler of a secure hyperconnected ecosystem by delivering customised value-based digital solutions. This initiative is hoped to elevate Johor to become a developed state while enriching the lives of Johor citizens. As an enabler of Malaysia’s Digital Nation aspirations, TM is committed to play our strategic role in building the digital society in support of nation building through Digital Solutions and Connectivity.” JASS is a platform that allows users, especially the citizens of Johor and visitors to explore the services provided in their vicinity, such as halal tourism, halal food and many more through a directory page. In addition, JASS also provides opportunities for local entrepreneurs to place their applications in the platform which will help them to penetrate local markets and beyond. Meanwhile, Dato’ Haji Mohd Noorazam said, “JASS is expected to attract the halal industry players to participate in promoting their products and services on the digital platform in conjunction with the Johor International Islamic and Halal Festival 2019. This collaboration between Digital Johor and TM is one of the initiatives undertaken to fulfill the aspirations of the ‘Bangsa Johor Bestari, Ke Arah Kehidupan Lestari’ in line with the fourth thrust of the Johor Sustainable Development Plan 2019-2030 namely Commercial Zone and Digital Community Drivers.” JASS smart application hub features eight (8) categories of applications and services which include Government Agencies Applications, Leisure and Lifestyle, Business and Information Directory, Direct Communication Channel, E-Wallet, Public Services, Education and Promotional Offers. Among other unique features of JASS, it serves as a platform to enable a digitalised lifestyle, as well as to accelerate the dissemination of information, new services and initiatives by the State Government for the citizens of Johor. TM ONE REINFORCES COMMITMENT TO ENABLING MELAKA'S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION ASPIRATIONS
KUALA LUMPUR & MELAKA, 30 DECEMBER 2024 – TM One, TM’s enterprise and government sector solutions arm, has reinforced its commitment to enabling Melaka’s digital and sustainable development through various collaborations with local agencies. Working with Majlis Perbandaran Alor Gajah (MPAG) and Syarikat Air Melaka Berhad (SAMB), TM One is deploying digital solutions to support the state’s economic growth, public services, and aspirations to become a model smart city. TM One also recently welcomed Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh, Melaka’s Chief Minister, to the TM Response Centre Melaka, one of three facilities that supports emergency responses across Malaysia. The Centre is staffed by over 150 personnel who manage emergency response calls 24/7, ensuring quality control, technical support, and data management. Handling over a million calls every month, the Centre serves as a critical national infrastructure that connects citizens with emergency responders, reinforcing public safety and security. This collaboration empowers Alor Gajah to enhance its public service responsiveness and create a more liveable environment, aligning with Melaka’s smart city development.” Transforming Water Management To modernise Melaka’s water management services, TM One was appointed by SAMB to provide Smart Workforce Solutions. Leveraging the Open Innovation Platform (OIP) and a range of digital tools including Workflow and Job Assignment Software, the solution enables efficient task allocation and tracking for improved metering, restoration, and contractor management. Customised workforce monitoring devices further provide real-time data capture and reporting from on-site locations, improving operational visibility and safety. Additionally, high-speed mobile connectivity supports communication and coordination, ensuring swift task completion and better service quality. Shazurawati concluded, “Our partnership with SAMB highlights the transformative power of technology in essential services, improving efficiency through swift, coordinated responses to critical tasks. By digitalising workforce operations, we are enabling SAMB to improve operational resilience and elevate service standards for the people of Melaka.”
TM One teams up with sap to become first local hyperscaler for partner managed cloud
This collaboration is aimed at empowering enterprise digitalisation to drive and support MyDIGITAL aspirations towards a technologically advanced economy via SAP and TM One’s Cloud infrastructure TM One, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and SAP Malaysia Sdn Bhd (SAP), recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a strategic collaboration to accelerate the digital transformation of Malaysian enterprises and to improve their operating efficiency through digital solutions. The event also announced the appointment of TM One as the first local hyperscaler to become the Partner Managed Cloud (PMC) provider for SAP business suite solutions in Malaysia. With this appointment, TM One's α Edge (pronounced as Alpha Edge) will provide cloud infrastructure to empower SAP's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions in meeting the business needs of TM One's enterprise customers.
