unifi, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) Group’s premier Convergence Communications Services Provider is officially made available in Sri Aman, Sarawak with the recent launch of the high speed broadband service in the area - further strengthening TM’s presence as Malaysia’s Convergence Champion, bringing unlimited experiences, unmatched choices and unbeatable value to more Malaysians.

The launch was officiated by Y.B. Dato’ Masir Kujat, Deputy Home Minister who is also the Member of Parliament of Sri Aman, together with Jafer Sadig Abdul Lathiff, Acting State General Manager, TM Sarawak.

Meanwhile, YB Dato Masir Kujat said, “The unifi service offering in Sri Aman is timely considering the state of Sarawak is currently embarking on digital economy to further propel its economy growth. In order for digital economy to be implemented successfully, the telecommunication infrastructure to support high-speed internet connectivity needs to be made available with the latest fiber optic technology. The network has to be extensive throughout the state not only covering the urban areas but also the sub-urban and rural areas. This is to ensure that the rural communities are not left behind in experiencing the high-speed internet hence reducing the digital gap with their urban counterparts.”

Besides the existing unifi LITE, ADVANCE and PRO plans with speeds of 100Mbps, TM is currently offering unifi edu and unifi ebiz packages specifically for students and e-entrepreneurs. The unifi edu package offers broadband access that comes with unifi wifi at an attractive price to support the development of youth and IPT students with access, which they can utilise to further improve their academic performance, wherever they are at their convenience. Meanwhile, in addressing the needs of key economic drivers such as technopreneurs, as well as to support the local SMEs and start-ups, unifi ebiz pack was introduced with the addition of ICT solution add-ons such as Instaweb, a helpful tool that enables self-built business websites and analytical capabilities to help boost their online businesses.

TMpoint Kajang reports one (1) new positive Covid-19 case

Safety protocols activated – outlet closed for sanitisation till 27 December 2020 ​Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to confirm one (1) new positive case of COVID-19 amongst its employees at TMpoint Kajang on 13 December 2020. The employee is currently receiving treatment at a Government​ hospital. Following the confirmed case, TM has taken immediate action to close its TMpoint Kajang until 27 December 2020 for disinfection and sanitisation in accordance to the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health (MoH). Meanwhile, other TMpoint outlets remain in operations in adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as TM’s added safety guidelines to ensure our customers continue to be served. TM management and staff are together praying for the speedy recovery of all those affected by the pandemic. Meanwhile, detailed contact tracing is being carried out by the MoH, assisted by TM’s COVID-19 Crisis Response Team (CRT), to identify and inform those whom had close contact with the positive case. Identified close contacts are being contacted by MoH for further advice and action. TM would like to remind everyone at all times to stay safe – practice social distancing, maintain personal hygiene and adhere to the SOPs as advised by the Government. TM would like to reiterate that it has taken and will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the health and safety of its customers, employees and community.​

TM's addresses data breach of Unifi mobile customers contact information

​Telekom Malaysia (“TM” or “the Group”) has been made aware of a data breach (specific to contact information only) on 28 December involving a limited amount of Unifi Mobile customers’ information. After investigations, TM has found 250,248 Unifi Mobile customers to be affected in this data breach, constituting both individual customers as well as SMEs. The type of data that was breached involved customer names, phone numbers and emails. No other information was breached. TM confirms that the breach has been contained and have taken steps to minimise the potential impact to these 250,248 customers. The specific customers affected have been notified. Customers who have not received any notification are not impacted. TM has also reported this matter to the relevant authorities (National Cyber Coordination & Command Centre (NC4); Department of Privacy & Data Protection (JPDP); and the Malaysian Communications & Multimedia Commission (MCMC)). While additional security measures have been put in place to isolate the risk and protect our customers, we wish to inform that our customers did not experience any service disruptions in this incident. TM is closely monitoring the situation and is conducting additional assessments. We advise customers to take extra precautions when receiving communications from unknown parties, as well as to secure their online information at all times. The privacy and security of TM’s customers remain our highest priority and we take such matters seriously. We will continue to strengthen and ensure our data security framework, policies, systems and processes are continuously benchmarked against Bank Negara Malaysia's Risk Management in Technology (RMiT) standard and ISO27001, as well as other global standards to prevent such occurrences.

TM Named Official Partner of the National Sepak Takraw Team, Reaffirming Commitment to Malaysia’s Sports Development

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 May 2025 – Telekom Malaysia Berhad (“TM” or “the Group”) has been officially announced as the Official Partner of the National Sepak Takraw Team, in a partnership with Persatuan SepakTakraw Malaysia (PSM). This strategic collaboration reinforces TM’s commitment to nation-building and Malaysia’s sports development. The partnership was formalised recently in a document exchange ceremony held at Seri Pacific Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, attended by Dato’ Mohd Sumali Reduan, President of PSM, and Nor Fadhilah Mohd Ali, Chief Corporate Officer of TM. Through this two-year collaboration, TM will play a key role in advancing Malaysia’s sports development agenda by supporting the National Sepak Takraw Team’s participation in major regional and international tournaments, including the Asia Cup 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, the SEA Games 2025 in Bangkok, and the ISTAF World Cup 2026. Sepak Takraw, a sport deeply rooted in Malaysian culture, is gaining renewed popularity among the youth, with a growing fan base across Malaysia and ASEAN. Its strong heritage, rising appeal, and international recognition inspire TM to uplift the sport as part of its nation-building efforts. To further promote the sport and broaden its reach, TM will provide live broadcast coverage of the Asia Cup 2025 through its Unifi Sports Channel 701 on Unifi TV. The channel is available to all Unifi TV Pack subscribers, allowing them to stream the matches live and helping to inspire greater appreciation for this traditional sport among Malaysians.
