Unifi TV Launches Original Content
Kuala Lumpur, 23 October 2023 – Unifi TV today launched Unifi TV Originals, its own original production to provide greater diversity and valuable content to its viewers. The series and movies line up are locally tailored to satisfy Malaysian viewers which include urban legends, folklore stories and social issues familiar to Malaysians.
Customers will be able to enjoy Unifi TV Original series and movies starting with the first series of “Nak Dengar Cerita Hantu?” directed by Sabri Yunus and written by Sophillea. This is an 8-episode series of Malaysian urban legends and folklore tales passed down through generations. The casts featuring renowned local talents such as Namron, Beto Kusyairi, Nora Danish, Uqasha Senrose, Elizabeth Tan, Sean Lee, Thanuja and more will ensure the series remain a true Malaysian affair. Catch the premier of the series on 27 October 2023 with new episodes every Friday at 9.00pm, exclusively on DEGUP (Unifi TV channel 120). Viewers who missed the 9.00pm time slot, will be able to catch the episode through Unifi TV’s Catch Up feature. The series can also be streamed over the Unifi TV app.

(Bara Jiwa series) with well-known directors and cast like Sabri Yunus, Osman Ali, Amorizan, Elisya Sandha, Ezzrin Loy, Yasmin Hani and many more, Unifi TV aspires to produce high-quality and exciting content, for its viewers through Unifi TV Originals.
“The rest of the original series spanning action, horror and thriller genres will be released in the next 12 months. Working with experienced talents in the industry will ensure the delivery of top-quality drama series and movies and we hope that this produces the best content for our Unifi TV subscribers while supporting development of the local entertainment industry,” concluded Anand.

The programme will see the involvement of 14 financial institutions providing financing facilities and consultations for TM local SME vendors. The institutions are Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, Maybank Islamic Berhad, CIMB Bank Berhad, Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad, RHB Islamic Bank Berhad, United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd, HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad, Small Medium Enterprise Development Bank Malaysia Berhad, Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad, Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad, PMB Tijari Berhad, Bay Group Holdings Sdn Bhd, Commerze Capital Sdn Bhd and El-Nuwr Capital Sdn Bhd. To signify the collaboration for the PERINTIS programme, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between TM and all the 14 institutions. Imri Mokhtar, Group Chief Executive Officer of TM signed the MoU on behalf of TM while the participating financial institutions were represented by their respective heads. The signing ceremony was witnessed by YB Dato' Sri Dr. Hj. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, accompanied by Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd Bakke Salleh, Chairman of TM. Also present at the event were Dato' Sri Haji Mohammad Mentek, Secretary General of the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives and his Deputy, Datuk Haji Zamri Salleh, Deputy Secretary General of Entrepreneur Development. Commenting on the collaboration, Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd Bakke said: "TM is committed to continuously strengthen our vendor ecosystem through upskilling and development programmes. The programmes are aimed at boosting the growth of the vendors towards ensuring their sustainability, while at the same time upholding integrity in all activities undertaken. This PERINTIS programme was initiated to provide TM's local SME vendors with flexible financial support and convenience towards enhancing their capabilities and viability. It is also in line with the Government's efforts to promote vendors' business viability and to create employment opportunities in the country." "Our vendors are our strategic business partners and they play a pivotal role in our business operations. With their undivided support, TM is on the right path to deliver more innovative digital products and solutions to all our customers; preparing them with the right foundation for Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0)," he added. PERINTIS: Providing comprehensive and flexible financing facilities towards building the capacity and capability of its vendors The PERINTIS programme will provide TM vendors with added convenience through various financing facilities and financial advisory. Under this programme, TM vendors will enjoy comprehensive financing packages across all levels and sizes of business including those with sub-contractors; with the value of up to RM10 million, depending on the number of contracts obtained from TM. The offering will start from the stage of preparation of equipment and requirements to obtain a contract from TM. The disbursement processes will also be expedited to ensure that the vendors are viable and are able to support the business. In addition, the programme offers accelerated loan approval, made possible through a cooperation between the financial institutions and a credit guarantor which acts as a guarantor based on the Risk Acceptance Criteria and Eligibility Criteria agreed with the participating financial institutions. Being at the frontier of each telecommunication technology evolution of the nation, TM remains steadfast to support and develop local entrepreneurs, particularly Bumiputera vendors to accelerate the Digital Malaysia's aspirations.
TM One and SME Bank collaborate to deliver technology funding to SMEs under PENJANA
TM One and SME Bank sign agreement to provide technology funding to SMEs via SME Technology Transformation Fund (STTF) TM One, the business and public sector solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Small Medium Enterprise Development Bank Malaysia Berhad (SME Bank), an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative to offer technology funding for its Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) customers to accelerate their business and digital transformation. The MoU was signed by Ahmad Taufek Omar, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, TM One while SME Bank was represented by Aria Putera Ismail, its Group President/Chief Executive Officer. The SME Technology Transformation Fund (STTF), is a fund set up between SME Bank and the Ministry of Finance to offer financing assistance of up to RM3.0 million to local SMEs. This is part of the Government's Pelan Jana Semula Ekonomi Negara (PENJANA) economic stimulus package to provide financial assistance to SMEs in adopting digitalisation and/or automation in their business operations. Commenting on the collaboration, Ahmad Taufek said, "We are excited to work hand-in-hand with SME Bank to accelerate digital adoption amongst our customers particularly in the SME segment. This is in support of the Government's efforts under PENJANA to execute key initiatives to help SMEs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our aim is to assist SMEs in addressing real business challenges and issues that they are currently facing with the digital solutions available. We have put in place dedicated teams and solutions to enable our customers to realise the full potential of their digital opportunities. Our Professional Services are a consultative approach in helping SMEs to understand how to plan their digital transformation based on their unique business requirements." Meanwhile, Aria said, "With a fund size of RM500 million, STTF is expected to directly assist SME entrepreneurs to achieve higher productivity, process efficiency, efficient cost management and greater market penetration. As at 11 November 2020, SME Bank has approved 18 applications worth RM36.55 million under the STTF fund. SME Bank's role in encouraging the SMEs to adopt digital technology was further enhanced with the introduction of ODELA, the first one-stop e-commerce platform backed by a Development Financial Institution (DFI), that enabled B2B entrepreneurs to make transactions and foster partnership across vast ecosystems. The Bank's wholesome approach in providing financing and entrepreneur development assistance further adds value and accelerate the development of digital economy thus boosting the nation's economic growth in this challenging time." STTF is to be used for financing the purchases of IT solutions and services, technology support services, computer hardware and software, equipment and/or machinery and other intangible assets to enhance productivity and efficiency. SMEs as defined by the National Entrepreneur and SME Development Council (NESDC) are eligible to apply for STTF. TM One's solutions are aimed at helping SMEs to achieve higher productivity, better cost management and improved efficiency for wider market penetration through the adoption of digitalisation and automation. TM reinforces commitment for employee welfare & safety; signs new Collective Agreement with NUTE for 2022-2024
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) signed its twelfth (12th) Collective Agreement (CA) last week, on 24 August 2022, with the National Union of Telecommunications Employees (NUTE) for the period of 2022-2024. Consecutively, the CA was also signed between NUTE and TM's subsidiaries, namely Telekom Sales & Services Sdn Bhd, TM Info-Media Sdn Bhd, GITN Sdn Bhd and TM R&D Sdn Bhd. About 8,000 non-executive employees in Peninsular Malaysia and Labuan were covered by this CA. It includes employment enhancements for various terms and conditions, including salary adjustment and cost of living allowances among others. It is also aimed to enhance and boost employees’ productivity and work performance. Representing TM Group for the CA signing was Imri Mokhtar, Group Chief Executive Officer and Sarinah Abu Bakar, Chief Human Capital Officer while NUTE was represented by its President, Mohd Jafar Abd Majid, and Mohamad Farid Mohamad Daud, General Secretary of NUTE. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by Tan Sri Mohammed Azlan Hashim, Chairman of TM. “The new CA demonstrates TM’s unwavering commitment and strong industrial partnership with NUTE towards the well-being of our employees.
