TM Wins Big at PC.Com Awards 2023
TM continued to solidify its position as Malaysia’s most trusted converged telco and technology company, when it was recognised with four (4) main awards at PC.com Awards 2023 held recently, including CEO of the Year award, won by its Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Imri Mokhtar, making the night a special and memorable one for the Company.
The other three (3) awards included “Best Fixed Broadband Service Provider” by Unifi, Unifi Business secured “Best Business Fixed Broadband Service Provider” and “Best Enterprise Telco” went to TM One.
Present to receive the awards on behalf of TM were Shazurawati Abd Karim, Executive Vice President, TM One; Anand Vijayan, Executive Vice President, Unifi; and Ts. Mohamad Yusman Ammeran, Head of SME, Unifi Business, along with the CEO of the Year award winner Datuk Imri Mokhtar.
When accepting the CEO of the Year award, Datuk Imri said: “I am receiving this award on behalf of our 19,000 strong Warga TM nationwide. This award truly belongs to all Warga TM. Your camaraderie and your commitment is an inspiration to me and to everyone.
“I would like to extend our utmost appreciation to all our customers - our home, SME and enterprise customers - for your trust in TM to serve your needs. A special appreciation also goes to our delivery ecosystem, including our partners. Without all of you, we couldn't have achieved what we have achieved, and we couldn’t overcome the obstacles that we had overcome. So once again, thank you very much to everyone.” He further thanked PC.com for the accolade and acknowledgement.

TM Announces Upcoming Change In MD / Group CEO
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), is pleased to announce a change in its executive leadership effective 1 August 2023. The change sees Amar Huzaimi Md Deris as the new Managing Director / Group CEO of TM, succeeding Datuk Imri Mokhtar, who completes his 3-year term on 31 July 2023. Currently heading TM's domestic and global wholesale business, Amar is another example of TM's home-grown talent, after Datuk Imri. Beginning his career with TM after graduating in 1998, Amar’s roles have ranged from financial control, internal audit, corporate and regulatory affairs, Group CEO’s office, culminating in his current P&L position at TM Global. His strategic vision, combined with operational experience and grasp of global leading technologies, ideally positions him to steer TM's evolution from a Telco to a TechCo. His achievements have not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by his recognition as one of CPA Australia's 40 young business leaders (2012) and by Capacity Media's 'Power 100' list in wholesale carrier community (2019, 2023). These accolades further attest to his leadership capabilities and the promising future he holds at the helm of TM. Speaking about his upcoming role, Amar said, "Datuk Imri has set the right path for TM, with the strengthened foundation from the turnaround and pursuit of new growth areas – charting the shift from a Telco to a TechCo. I am proud to have been part of that journey; and now, I am enthusiastic to follow through and lead TM to the next level." TM JOINS CANDLE SUBMARINE CABLE SYSTEM CONSORTIUM TO CONNECT MALAYSIA AND ASEAN COUNTRIES TO JAPAN
KUALA LUMPUR, September 22, 2025 – TM, Meta, SoftBank Corp., IPS Inc., PT XLSmart Telecom Sejahtera Tbk, and NEC Corporation are collaborating to develop the Candle submarine cable system. Candle is a 24-fiber pair, 8,000 km submarine cable system connecting Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, that is scheduled to begin operations in 2028. It will contribute to infrastructure expansion and secure redundant routes to meet the increasing demand for data communications driven by 5G and AI. This cable system will be one of the first in the Asia-Pacific region to use a 24-fiber pair cable, enabling superior traffic capacity to support the growing demand for communications in the region. Chairperson of the Candle Management Committee, Don Pang, said: “Candle represents a pivotal advancement in fortifying the region’s digital infrastructure. As the need for robust, high-speed connectivity grows, Candle will deliver greater network diversity and resilience along this essential corridor, leveraging state-of-the-art technology. This milestone reflects the deep collaboration among our partners and underscores our shared commitment to advancing digital inclusion and economic opportunity for over half a billion people in the Asia-Pacific region.” The partners from participating countries also provided their comments on the importance of this new system. TM once again soars high at NACRA 2019!
The Company was recognised as among the best at the annual Corporate Report awards ceremony Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) has been accorded the Best Annual Report (Silver) at the recent National Annual Corporate Report Awards (NACRA) 2019. The Company was once again recognised as a leading corporate institution in Malaysia when its 2018 annual report bagged four (4) excellence in major categories. The awards were: Overall Excellence Awards for Most Outstanding Annual Report of the Year (Silver) Best Annual Report in Bahasa Malaysia (Gold) Best Sustainability Reporting Award (Silver) Industry Excellence Award for Main Board Company in Telecommunications & Media category – 23 consecutive years Commenting on the win, Dato' Noor Kamarul Anuar Nuruddin, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM, said, "We are indeed very excited and honoured to once again receive multiple awards at NACRA 2019.
