Shahnaz, age 57, a Malaysian, was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) on 3 June 2025.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons) from University of Nottingham, United Kingdom and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) Lausanne, Switzerland. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
Shahnaz currently chairs and leads LeapEd Services Sdn Bhd (LeapEd), a social enterprise dedicated to advancing quality education with a focus on ensuring every child has a promising future. Through LeapEd, she co-founded the first Malaysia Digital School, Sekolah Anak Malaysia (SAM) of which she is the current Managing Director.
Shahnaz brings with her more than 30 years of experience in audit, consultancy, corporate, government-linked companies (GLC) and entrepreneurship. Her experience in corporate and GLC includes senior leadership roles at Malaysia Airlines in 2001, as well as Director, Chief Financial Officer of Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah) in 2004, and also as Executive Director, Strategic Human Capital Management of Khazanah from 2008 until 2011. During her tenure at Khazanah, she played a key role in sectoral, financial and talent transformation across multiple sectors, underpinned by nation-building mission.
Shahnaz serves on the Board of Trustees of CIMB Foundation, Teach for Malaysia (TFM) Foundation and is also on the Board of Governors of Kolej Yayasan UEM. Following her appointment as an INED of TM, she has also been appointed as a Member of the Board Audit Committee and the Board Tender Committee.
