TM AND U MOBILE ENTER INTO 5G WHOLESALE ARRANGEMENT
KUALA LUMPUR, 25 FEBRUARY 2026 – Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) today announced that it will enter into a new 5G Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) arrangement with U Mobile as part of its approach to strengthen mobile competitiveness and advance its convergence ambitions.
In connection with this transition, TM has exercised its contractual rights under the existing 5G Access Agreement to terminate its current 5G wholesale access arrangement with Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), in accordance with the terms of the agreement and subject to regulatory processes and requirements.
Mobile services are a critical pillar of TM’s convergence ambitions, enabling integrated fixed, mobile, content and smart services across consumer, SME and enterprise segments. The introduction of the Government’s dual 5G network framework provides the opportunity for TM to evaluate options that best support long-term competitiveness and value of its convergence offerings.
The transition of the 5G service will be thoroughly planned and carried out smoothly to ensure no disruption to customers’ experience.
TM acknowledges DNB’s pioneering role in accelerating Malaysia’s nationwide 5G rollout. The Group remains committed to industry collaborations in advancing Malaysia’s digital infrastructure ecosystem.
TM will continue to progress towards its aspiration to become a Digital Powerhouse by 2030 - delivering resilient, competitive and future-ready solutions for the nation’s digital economy.

Consolidation of TM’s business in Malaysia to strengthen fixed-mobile convergence leadership and improve operational efficiency
Telekom Malaysia Berhad ("TM" or "the Group") today announced an internal reorganisation which involves the transfer of its business in Malaysia to a single operating entity named TM Technology Services Sdn Bhd ("TM Tech"). The internal reorganisation is anticipated to complete by 31 December 2023. The reorganisation – which includes Unifi, TM One and TM Wholesale, among others – marks the next phase of the Group's transformation to be the enabler of a digital Malaysia, and to further improve its operational efficiencies, streamline processes and simplify customer touchpoints to provide a more seamless customer experience. Incorporating its diverse businesses under TM Tech will also reinforce TM's Fixed-Mobile Convergence leadership, offering integrated fixed broadband, mobile services, data services, digital content and innovative solutions to communities, businesses and the Government. Group CEO, Imri Mokhtar said, "As digital lifestyles, increasing competition and stakeholder expectations reshape the industry, consolidating these businesses into one operating entity will allow us to serve our diverse customer segments better and deliver their needs more quickly. "Consolidating our suite of connectivity and digital offerings will also enable us to easily tap into the right combination of solutions to meet the unique needs of individual lifestyles and businesses." Under TM Tech, consumers will continue to enjoy the fastest and widest all-in-one connectivity and digital content. Enterprises and the public sector will also benefit from TM's digital and smart solutions, including cloud and data centres, cybersecurity and smart industry offerings. The operating entity will also continue to champion TM's nation-building efforts in expanding and modernising the country's fibre network, data centres and submarine cable systems. TM Tech will be led by TM's existing senior management team and will bring together its diverse talents under a single company, encouraging greater agility and cross-functional collaboration to improve service quality. Imri explained, "Our Warga TM will remain the execution engine for TM and the country's digital transformation. While our workforce will be realigned to this single operating entity, employee functions, entitlements and benefits will remain unchanged." Similarly, all of TM's partnerships, vendor and service agreements will remain in effect. Telekom Malaysia Berhad will now serve as an investment holding company for this operating entity, with all other subsidiaries within the Group to remain status quo. TM inks agreement with DNB to provide fibre connectivity in accelerating rollout of 5G network services nationwide
With a total contract value of RM2 billion over 10 years, the signing of a Fibre Leasing Service agreement with DNB demonstrates TM’s commitment to enable the provision of 5G infrastructure in supporting the Government’s ambitious digital aspiration Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) today announces the signing of a Fibre Leasing Service agreement with Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) to speed up the deployment of the Government-owned 5G network nationwide. Taking on a leading role in enabling a Digital Malaysia, and as the national connectivity and digital infrastructure provider, TM is at the forefront of technology and innovation to support the country as it moves forward to realise a more digital society, digital business, digital industry and digital Government by 2030. The term sheet agreement with a total contract value of RM2 billion over 10 years was duly signed by Imri Mokhtar, Group Chief Executive Officer of TM and Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, Executive Vice President, TM Wholesale while DNB was represented by Augustus Ralph Marshall, Chief Executive Officer and Dushyanthan Vaithiyanathan, Chief Operating Officer. Commenting on the signing, Imri said: “Today’s signing further reinforces the Government’s aspiration of putting in place Malaysia’s digital infrastructure and network. We have always been a strong advocate of infrastructure sharing in providing connectivity services and end-to-end solutions, to enable excellent wireless solutions and services.” DNB will be able to leverage on TM’s extensive fibre and network infrastructure, and subscribe to TM’s 5G RAN-to-Edge Fronthaul and Backhaul solution for the provision of fibre connectivity, enabling DNB to provide 5G network services nationwide. Under the agreement, TM will provide DNB with 5G fibre leasing services for connectivity between DNB’s 5G mobile sites and nodes, leveraging on TM’s domestic fibre cable network spanning over 640,000 km across Malaysia. Prior to this, TM along with other fibre providers in Malaysia had participated in the 5G Fiber Leasing Request for Quotation (RFQ) exercise conducted by DNB in June 2021. “As DNB’s selected partner in implementing the Government’s 5G network rollout plan in Malaysia, the signing of this Fibre Agreement is testament to our advanced network technology and workforce capabilities in delivering fibre solutions throughout the country. Critical in executing this mission is to ensure our network is robust to support the future requirements of 5G and further fuel technological innovation in Malaysia,” Imri added. “In delivering the fibre connectivity for DNB’s 5G network, the local telecommunications vendors and suppliers’ ecosystem shall benefit too, in areas such as engineering services, supply of fibre, accessories, poles, manholes and premise equipment. Based on our current fibre implementation, we expect more than 70% of the work to involve and benefit bumiputera and local companies.” “TM is also excited to utilise DNB’s 5G network to provide 5G services and solutions to our home, SME, enterprise and public sector customers. With the launch of DNB 5G network services yesterday, we will be able to test the 5G network and offer services on a trial basis in selected areas across Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Cyberjaya,” Imri concluded. Today’s signing is in tandem with the implementation of Jalinan Digital Negara’s (JENDELA) action plan and cements TM’s commitment of enabling Digital Malaysia through MyDIGITAL. It is also in support of the Government’s other digital plans encompassing digital connectivity (domestic fiberisation, international connectivity), digital infrastructure (cloud, data centre and cybersecurity) and digital talents (via Multimedia University and TM Digital Academy).
TM NXERA ACHIEVES NEW HEIGHTS WITH TOPPING-OUT CEREMONY FOR AI-READY DATA CENTRE IN JOHOR
Iskandar Puteri, 16 April 2026 – TM Nxera, the joint venture between Telekom Malaysia (TM) and Nxera, Singtel Digital InfraCo’s regional data centre arm, celebrated the topping-out of its AI-ready, hyperconnected data centre in Iskandar Puteri, Johor – a development set to power Malaysia’s next phase of AI-driven growth and strengthen its role as a regional digital hub.The ceremony signifies the completion of the first building’s structural framework, a decisive step forward in the construction and systems integration phase. Since groundbreaking in July 2024 and securing a multi-year electricity supply agreement with Tenaga Nasional for 280MW of power earlier this year, the data centre is now entering the customer onboarding and commercial operations stage.Mahathir Said, CEO of TM Nxera, said, “Today’s topping-out ceremony reflects our strong execution as we move toward delivering the first building of our campus, with scalability up to 200MW, making it one of the largest AI-ready campuses in Malaysia. Aiming for Power Usage Effectiveness of ≤1.30 at full load, advanced liquid cooling technologies and renewable energy integration, the data centre is optimised for demanding high compute and ultra-low latency AI workloads, enabling enterprises to deploy AI at-scale.” “Backed by TM and Singtel’s extensive cross-border terrestrial fibre and subsea connectivity, the campus is engineered to support hyperscalers, AI innovators and enterprises seeking resilient, high‑performance and sustainable data centre solutions. Having already received strong interest and demand from hyperscalers and enterprises, we are focused on building scalable, future‑ready digital infrastructure that contributes to digital transformation across industries and fosters a thriving digital ecosystem,” he added.With structural works now completed, TM Nxera will proceed with mechanical and electrical installations, systems integration and commissioning. The campus remains on track to begin its first phase of commercial operations by the second half of 2026, enabling customers to plan cloud and AI deployments with confidence.
