TM STATEMENT ON BUDGET 2025
TM welcomes the Government’s Budget 2025 announcement, themed “Ekonomi MADANI: Negara Makmur, Rakyat Sejahtera”, and applauds its continued focus on economic reform and uplifting the well-being of the rakyat. In line with these goals, TM is committed to playing a key role in the nation’s digitalisation journey, ensuring that technological advancements contribute to sustainable and inclusive growth that benefits businesses, MSMEs, communities, and the public sector.
In line with Budget 2025’s priorities, TM continues to support digital inclusivity by collaborating with the relevant Ministries and Government agencies to enhance high-speed internet access for underserved areas and improve the quality of digital services in various industries such as education and healthcare.
TM also remains dedicated to nurturing the nation’s digital talent by integrating crucial skills such as AI, IoT, cybersecurity, and cloud computing into education and training programmes through our Multimedia University (MMU) and collaborations with TVET institutions.

TM Celebrates Aidilfitri 2025 with “Salam Teristimewa”, Empowering Autistic Community through AI and Art
KUALA LUMPUR, 2 April 2025 – This Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (“TM” or “the Group”) presents “Salam Teristimewa”, a special campaign that brings together creativity, inclusion and innovation to celebrate the unique talents of Malaysia’s autistic community. Adding further meaning to the celebration, this year’s campaign also coincides with World Autism Acceptance Month in April. In supporting this, TM is collaborating with NakSeni, a social enterprise dedicated to empowering artists with disabilities, to shine a spotlight on three creative autistic individuals—Izzati Shahrin, Yuri Azzari, and Maria Soo. Rich in emotion, colour and individuality, their original artworks have been transformed by TM into dynamic, animated expressions using generative AI tools. These animated visuals offer an immersive glimpse into how neurodiverse individuals interpret themes such as festive joy, human connection and the feeling of belonging, among core elements of Aidilfitri that resonate will all Malaysians. Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, TM Group Chief Executive Officer said, “This Aidilfitri, we are celebrating the power of expression, inclusion, and how technology can and should be used to uplift lives. We believe that every voice, especially those less heard, has a story worth sharing. Through “Salam Teristimewa”, we are humbled to raise awareness around autism acceptance to foster a greater understanding of neurodiversity and promote a more inclusive society. “This initiative reflects TM’s broader aspiration to become a Digital Powerhouse by 2030, where innovation is not just about advancing technology, but about creating meaningful impact for communities. By harnessing the latest AI video generation tool, we have reimagined how art and technology can intersect to amplify underrepresented voices, and offer all Malaysians a new, heartfelt perspective on Raya,” added Amar. Each piece offers a window into the autistic artists’ perspectives, blurring the line between technology and human emotion and creating a celebration that is truly teristimewa.
TM announces appointment of new chairman; records highest appreciation to predecessor
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) today announced the departure of Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd Bakke Salleh as Chairman of TM Board with effect on 31 July 2021 and the appointment of its new Chairman, Dato' Mohammed Azlan Hashim effective 1 August 2021. On behalf of TM Group, the Board of Directors, expressed their highest appreciation to Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd Bakke Salleh for his leadership and contribution to the TM Group during his tenure. "The entire Board, management and Warga TM would like to record our heartfelt gratitude to Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd Bakke, an exemplary role model in upholding governance and integrity and a highly respected corporate figure; who has brought his vast insights in industry and commercial to benefit the TM Group. Together with the Board, Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) and management, we have charted the next phase of growth for the company under the New TM Transformation 2021-2023, anchored on 40+ Value Programmes. This has already seen a strong start with quarterly growth across all lines of business and improved operations. Under his stewardship, TM has also continued to serve and support the nation throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, ensuring Malaysians stay safe and connected at home and remain productive; whilst extending humanitarian aid to those in need during these challenging times." PROFILE OF DATO' MOHAMMED AZLAN HASHIM Dato' Mohammed Azlan Hashim is presently a Board member of Khazanah since 1 April 2020. He is also a Board member and the Investment Panel Chairman of the EPF. He is also currently the Chairman of several public listed entities including D&O Green Technologies Berhad, Marine & General Berhad and IHH Healthcare Berhad. He has extensive working experience in the corporate sectors including financial services and investments. Among others, he served as Chief Executive of Bumiputra Merchant Bankers Berhad, Managing Director of Amanah Capital Malaysia Berhad and Executive Chairman of Bursa Malaysia Berhad. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University, Melbourne and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, and Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
DNB, TM and ZTE Collaborate On World's First and Fastest 28Gbps 5G mmWave on Standalone 5G Core
CYBERJAYA, 17 October 2023 – Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), TM and ZTE Corporation (ZTE) have formed a strategic alliance to unveil the world’s fastest 5G live trial which will deliver remarkable speeds up to 28Gbps. This revolutionary technology will reshape Malaysia’s digital landscape and set a new global standard in wireless communication. An expansion of DNB’s commitment to drive 5G capabilities for the country, the partnership will leverage TM’s established network infrastructure and digital expertise, as well as ZTE’s state-of-the-art mmWave active antenna unit and cutting-edge chipset technology to deliver Malaysia's first standalone 5G core, complemented by an adaptable next generation transport network. This milestone solidifies Malaysia’s position as a frontrunner in mmWave technology, elevating industry digitalisation and consumer experiences to unprecedented levels. Through this new innovation, the strategic partnership aims to propel productivity and operational efficiency, improving customer satisfaction and generating higher demand across all sectors. It will also enhance rapid Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) connections to deliver high-quality services, video streaming, lag-free online gaming, and immersive virtual and augmented reality applications. Gracing the launch of this collaboration at TM’s Multimedia University, YB Teo Nie Ching, Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital, said, “This groundbreaking partnership reaffirms Malaysia’s commitment to advancing technology, propelling us into a new era of connectivity.
