TM One’s annual flagship event LEAP Summit returns for a fifth year, anchoring on the theme ‘Enabling Your Next: Innovate and Transform’

TM One, the enterprise and government sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), held its high-impact annual flagship event, LEAP Summit 2022 today, aimed at propelling enterprise innovation and transformation as Malaysian businesses take advantage of the nation’s initial economic recovery.

The fifth in its series, LEAP Summit 2022 themed ‘Enabling Your Next: Innovate & Transform’, brought together world-class digital experts and over 200 of Malaysia’s top decision makers to better understand how these leaders could unleash their innovation potential and take their businesses to the next level.

Imri Mokhtar, Group Chief Executive Officer of TM, in his welcoming address said that increased customer expectations for digital services and platforms are reshaping how enterprises work and conduct their business.

He also explained that in order to keep up with these new trends, enterprises must fast-track their transformation to virtualised cloud-based services, leverage digital networks to modernise legacy processes, accelerate workflow efficiency, and strengthen cybersecurity. This will improve business offerings and overall customer experience, leading to increased growth and profitability.

Kicking off LEAP Summit 2022 was Netflix’s Co-Founding Executive, Mitch Lowe, who emphasised the need for being brave in order to become a leader of the industry and to remain relevant. Having grown with the entertainment industry from video stores and DVD kiosks, to founding one of the most successful over the top (OTT) content services, Lowe shared that the habit of transformation is built by constantly looking to solve the problems faced by the customers and the industry.

Building on this need for organisations to constantly evolve, the event then featured a panel session with Paul Nicholls, Telstra Purple’s Digital Transformation Practice Leader with Telstra’s global partners Airspeeder (the F1 for Electric Flying Vehicle) and Bata Global (world's largest shoe manufacturer), which was moderated by Ching-Fong (CF) Ong, Managing Director & Senior Partner
from Boston Consulting Group; who deep dove into real examples of transformation, spanning multiple technologies and geographies, which centres around customers.

Bringing the conversation closer to home, industry leaders Datuk Hj Bacho Pilong, Senior Vice President, Project Delivery & Technology, PETRONAS; Fabian Bigar, Chief Executive Officer, MyDIGITAL; Effendy Shahul Hamid, Chief Executive Officer, CIMB Digital Assets; Ir. Dr. Lim Eu Shawn, Chief Global Solutions Officer, Aerodyne Group; also weighed in on transformation within the Malaysian context and its role in future-proofing businesses and the nation to progress from surviving to thriving. This discussion was moderated by Manoj Menon, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of twimbit.

Harnessing 5G capabilities to power connected technologies to improve performance and customer experience, real-time detection, instant analysis and action for efficiency, as well as increased safety while reducing down-time through smart solutions, TM One’s 5G Sphere offers the opportunity for enterprises to springboard their transformation through actual case studies and proof of concepts that address their unique business challenges.

TM One’s latest-in-class showcase during LEAP Summit 2022 also spotlighted 5G-enabled applications for Smart Healthcare, Smart Industry and Smart Cities, along with several digital solutions and services, demonstrating the latest end-to-end technologies available to enterprises and the public sector to spur on their digital growth.

Shazurawati explained, “The next phase of smart innovative transformation will be 5G-driven opportunities, with capabilities such as video monitoring, logistics, fleet management, and private 5G networks powering manufacturing, transport, factories, and campuses already on the horizon.”

“Moving forward, optimal 5G business solutions will arise from smart collaborations and coalitions among industry leaders, accelerating the next phase of technology adoption by both industry and the country as a whole, and enabling our aspirations for a Digital Malaysia,” she concluded.

TM One Smart Healthcare solutions to enhance digital patient experience at Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care

Malaysia’s first healthcare provider to leverage TM One Smart Patient Suite solution TM One, the enterprise and government sector solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), today inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care (“RSDH”) to collaborate on Smart Healthcare and other business solutions for the RSDH group of hospitals. The MoU was signed by Shazurawati Abd Karim, Executive Vice President of TM One, and Peter Hong, Group Chief Executive Officer, RSDH. Aimed at improving patient experience and enabling innovative transformation for essential in-patient services, the collaboration marks the first in Malaysia to leverage TM One’s Smart Patient Suite solution, by harnessing the power of the Internet of Things (IoT) to provide automation and surround control. Shazurawati Abd Karim, Executive Vice President, TM One said, “We are honoured to be working with RSDH to serve as the enabler of their next advantage today and tomorrow, bringing Malaysian healthcare and digital progress for all. Wellness wearables, for example, will allow high-risk patients who have received care at medical facilities to transition as outpatients quicker and continue self-monitoring in the comfort of their homes, with healthcare professionals leveraging real-time analytics for patient care administration. “Technology is reshaping the relationship between patients, healthcare providers, and the healthcare system, enabling us to move towards patient-centric, prevention-focused and outcome-driven healthcare. The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), will empower healthcare providers with data and analytics to improve the quality of patient care while maximising operational efficiency,” added Shazurawati. This two-year collaboration with RSDH follows the launch of TM One’s Sphere Programme, which brings together Malaysia’s leading technology and smart solution partners to create an ecosystem that will help springboard enterprise and government sector innovative transformation. Gamuda Land and TM embark on strategic collaboration on converged telecommunications services for Gamuda Gardens

Sungai Buloh: Gamuda Land and Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), via its business solutions arm, TM ONE, today inked a strategic collaboration at Gamuda Gardens sales gallery for the deployment of converged telecommunications services at Precinct 1 & Precinct 2 including Gaia Residences, the first service apartments at Gamuda Gardens.  Through this collaboration, approximately 1,500 units of residences in Gamuda Gardens will enjoy a 2-year complimentary unifi high speed internet service of 100Mbps; which will be upgraded to a higher bandwidth upon vacant possession (VP) of their homes. TM aspires towards a human-centred technology company in delivering digital Malaysia following successful 37th AGM

2021 a milestone first-year of the New TM Transformation Telekom Malaysia Berhad ("TM" or "the Group") today successfully concluded its 37th Annual General Meeting, with all 13 Ordinary Resolutions and one Special Resolution tabled duly approved by its shareholders. The Meeting was conducted online for a third consecutive year to allow maximum flexibility for engagement with shareholders. The event saw over 1,000 shareholders attending virtually. Hosting the proceedings for the first time, Tan Sri Mohammed Azlan Hashim, Chairman of TM's Board of Directors said, "2021 has been a milestone first-year in our New TM Transformation, with the Group setting a solid foundation as a growth-oriented PLC investing for optimum long-term returns for its shareholders, while also continuing its nation-building efforts to realise a truly Digital Malaysia." Alongside the Board of Directors, key senior leaders including Imri Mokhtar, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer; and Razidan Ghazalli, Group Chief Financial Officer were also in attendance to offer insights into the 2021 Audited Financial Statements and the Group's moving forward business priorities. "In 2022, we aim to continue growing our operating revenue by strengthening our core business momentum to improve profitability, enabling us to invest for future growth. Our first quarter of 2022 recorded steady revenue growth at RM2.89 billion, an increase of 2.9% from this same period last year, despite heightened competition. We also ramped up our transformation initiatives and delivered profit after tax and non-controlling interests (PATAMI) at RM339.9 million, or 4.4% higher. We will continue to optimise cost and improve productivity in our effort to raise EBIT to more than RM1.8 billion," Imri explained. He added: "We are intensifying our efforts in the remaining seven months to deliver the next chapter of our Transformation. We will look at a total CAPEX spend between 14-18 per cent of revenue, with spending primarily focused on network expansion and modernisation together with enhancing customer experience." unifi will continue to maintain its leadership in fixed broadband and enhance its Fixed-Mobile Convergence (FMC) proposition, enriched with TV and streaming content. This reflects its commitment to improve its FMC customer experience with better and seamless service. unifi will also grow its SME digital platform as a one-stop service centre for solutions catering especially to SMEs nationwide. TM Wholesale will continue to enable industry broadband and 4G network via its fibre infrastructure, with the ongoing 5G rollout further strengthening that role. On the international front, it will further serve other OTTs and hyperscalers with connectivity and data centres, moving towards establishing Malaysia as a digital hub for ASEAN via new submarine cables, enhanced data centre solutions, and edge computing. TM One, as the sole home-based cloud service provider will also offer end-to-end managed services with robust connectivity and infrastructure. In addition to ensuring data sovereignty and security for the MyGovCloud initiative, TM One will be ramping up its data centres to support the nation's Cloud First agenda. Recognising that the future is digital, TM has also invested in strengthening its digital services through Credence, a new arm that will focus on expanding the capabilities of enterprises in their digital transformation journey. Helmed by senior leaders from the technology sector, this new business will serve existing TM customers as an end-to-end Cloud and Services solution partner, offering services from tech infrastructure to business insights, IT landscape migration, SaaS, managed services as well as analytics. While improving connectivity and digitisation solutions to enable a better Malaysia, the human factor remains the true centre of TM's growth agenda. Imri concluded: "Our aspiration is to evolve towards becoming a human-centred technology company.
