TM One conferred best data centre services provider at Telecom Asia Awards 2018
TM One, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), further strengthen its position as the leading digital enabler when it was recognised as the Best Data Centre Services Provider by Telecom Asia at the 21st Telecom Asia Awards held recently in Singapore.
The award was conferred for TM One’s dedication to deliver top-notch data centre infrastructure and best-in-class managed services to its customers.
Edwin Ng Kok En, General Manager, Data Centre and Cloud Business, TM One accepted the awards on behalf of TM during the awards presentation ceremony.

“In the current challenging era that requires advance solutions in support of the digital economy, data collection, storage, analysis and transformation into real customer insights are essential for organisations in order to drive decision making at an unprecedented volume and speed. However, legacy data centre facilities may have limited capabilities to cope with the increasing demand to properly support today's energy-demanding, high-performance big data computing. Hence, many businesses are shifting to commercial and third-party data centre providers such as TM One that has the capability to securely host and manage thousands of servers and petabytes of data in a very cost effective manner,” he further added.
TM One launched its state-of-the-art IPDC located in Nusajaya Technology Park, Iskandar Puteri, Johor in November 2017. The IPDC, which has been accredited with Tier-III Constructed Facilities by the Uptime Institute, was designed to fulfil hosting, cloud and IoT requirements of business and enterprise customers as well as public sector in realising their digital transformation. In tandem with the IPDC, the Klang Valley Data Centre (KVDC) which is currently under construction, is set to become TM One’s ‘Twin Core’ and hybrid cloud strategy to enable businesses to realise the full potential of their digital opportunities. TM currently has 11 data centres located across Malaysia, as well as in Hong Kong and the United States.
Marking its 21st anniversary, as the region’s longest running and most prestigious industry award, the Telecom Asia Awards aims to recognise and reward Asia’s premiere service providers and executives in the telecom industry.

Kicking off LEAP Summit 2022 was Netflix’s Co-Founding Executive, Mitch Lowe, who emphasised the need for being brave in order to become a leader of the industry and to remain relevant. Having grown with the entertainment industry from video stores and DVD kiosks, to founding one of the most successful over the top (OTT) content services, Lowe shared that the habit of transformation is built by constantly looking to solve the problems faced by the customers and the industry. Building on this need for organisations to constantly evolve, the event then featured a panel session with Paul Nicholls, Telstra Purple’s Digital Transformation Practice Leader with Telstra’s global partners Airspeeder (the F1 for Electric Flying Vehicle) and Bata Global (world's largest shoe manufacturer), which was moderated by Ching-Fong (CF) Ong, Managing Director & Senior Partner from Boston Consulting Group; who deep dove into real examples of transformation, spanning multiple technologies and geographies, which centres around customers. Innovating Malaysia's healthcare through 5G and digital solutions

Collaborating with Siemens Healthineers Malaysia, TM One shared its vision at the inaugural 5G in Healthcare Symposium, organised by the Association of Private Hospitals Malaysia (APHM), where they showcased next-level innovations for the healthcare system, made possible by 5G connectivity. This gathering of healthcare providers highlighted the multiple benefits gained from digital transformation in the sector, including enhanced patient care and operational efficiencies, among others. The digitalisation of this essential sector has also proven to be particularly timely and effective in delivering health care during and post pandemic. Shazurawati Abd Karim, Executive Vice President of TM One explained the significance of 5G to Malaysian healthcare, stating that: “5G will positively impact the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), and enable life-saving medical innovations that reflect the needs of a post pandemic society. Amongst the technologies demonstrated was VRAR (virtual reality/augmented reality) using a Microsoft HoloLens device, which utilises mixed-reality experiences with 3D data processing, analytics, visualisation, and simulation applications. This technology aims to humanise the diagnosis and treatment identification process and will improve the productivity of healthcare personnel by accelerating their time-to-diagnosis, surgical accuracy and reduce time-to-care which will result in improving overall patient experience. TM One also showcased a virtual medical consultation solution powered by REMEDi, a digital healthcare technology developer. Through high-speed, low-latency 5G, the solution will provide enhanced video images and sound quality for safer diagnosis of patients and effective troubleshooting. In addition, this solution can be conveniently deployed anywhere, matching the current shift towards online examinations and telemedicine. Speaking about the event, Datuk Dr Kuljit Singh, President of APHM said, “The 5G in Healthcare Symposium was a great platform for our partners, TM One and Siemens Healthineers to demonstrate the future of Malaysia’s private healthcare, providing a guide on how to transform hospitals by leveraging 5G. TM One teams up with sap to become first local hyperscaler for partner managed cloud
This collaboration is aimed at empowering enterprise digitalisation to drive and support MyDIGITAL aspirations towards a technologically advanced economy via SAP and TM One’s Cloud infrastructure TM One, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and SAP Malaysia Sdn Bhd (SAP), recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a strategic collaboration to accelerate the digital transformation of Malaysian enterprises and to improve their operating efficiency through digital solutions. The event also announced the appointment of TM One as the first local hyperscaler to become the Partner Managed Cloud (PMC) provider for SAP business suite solutions in Malaysia. With this appointment, TM One's α Edge (pronounced as Alpha Edge) will provide cloud infrastructure to empower SAP's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions in meeting the business needs of TM One's enterprise customers.
