TM One and Digital Johor empower Johor with JASS smart application
New digital platform for Johor towards achieving the State’s aspiration of ‘Bangsa Johor Bestari, Ke Arah Kehidupan Lestari’
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) through TM One, its enterprise and public sector business solutions arm together with Digital Johor Sdn Bhd (Digital Johor), a subsidiary of Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor Sdn Bhd, today officially launched ‘Jendela Aplikasi Servis dan Solusi’ (JASS) smart application towards realising the State Government’s initiatives of Digitalising Johor. The mobile application was launched in conjunction with the opening ceremony of Johor International Islamic and Halal Festival 2019 held at Persada International Convention Centre, Johor Bahru, Johor.
The opening ceremony of Johor International Islamic and Halal Festival 2019 and the launch of JASS was graced by YAB Dato’ Haji Osman Haji Sapian, Chief Minister of Johor. Also present were YB Tuan Sheikh ‘Umar Bagharib Ali, Johor State Exco of Entrepreneurship, Cooperative and Creative Economy, Dato’ Haji Mohd Noorazam Osman, Chief Executive Officer, Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor Sdn Bhd (KPRJ), Datuk Abdul Wahab Abdullah, Managing Director, Digital Johor & Intelligent Johor and Azhar Omar, State Vice President, TM Johor.
Commenting on the launch, Azhar Omar said, “We are proud to announce the official launch of JASS application hub, designed to support the digital lifestyle of the local communities particularly in Johor as well as tourists through a single platform. This collaboration with Digital Johor provides the opportunity for TM to demonstrate our capabilities, through TM One, as the strategic enabler of a secure hyperconnected ecosystem by delivering customised value-based digital solutions. This initiative is hoped to elevate Johor to become a developed state while enriching the lives of Johor citizens. As an enabler of Malaysia’s Digital Nation aspirations, TM is committed to play our strategic role in building the digital society in support of nation building through Digital Solutions and Connectivity.”
JASS is a platform that allows users, especially the citizens of Johor and visitors to explore the services provided in their vicinity, such as halal tourism, halal food and many more through a directory page. In addition, JASS also provides opportunities for local entrepreneurs to place their applications in the platform which will help them to penetrate local markets and beyond.
Meanwhile, Dato’ Haji Mohd Noorazam said, “JASS is expected to attract the halal industry players to participate in promoting their products and services on the digital platform in conjunction with the Johor International Islamic and Halal Festival 2019. This collaboration between Digital Johor and TM is one of the initiatives undertaken to fulfill the aspirations of the ‘Bangsa Johor Bestari, Ke Arah Kehidupan Lestari’ in line with the fourth thrust of the Johor Sustainable Development Plan 2019-2030 namely Commercial Zone and Digital Community Drivers.”
JASS smart application hub features eight (8) categories of applications and services which include Government Agencies Applications, Leisure and Lifestyle, Business and Information Directory, Direct Communication Channel, E-Wallet, Public Services, Education and Promotional Offers.
Among other unique features of JASS, it serves as a platform to enable a digitalised lifestyle, as well as to accelerate the dissemination of information, new services and initiatives by the State Government for the citizens of Johor.
JASS is already available to be downloaded for FREE at Google Playstore while iOS users are expected to be able to download JASS in mid-April this year.

TM ONE REINFORCES COMMITMENT TO ENABLING MELAKA'S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION ASPIRATIONS
KUALA LUMPUR & MELAKA, 30 DECEMBER 2024 – TM One, TM’s enterprise and government sector solutions arm, has reinforced its commitment to enabling Melaka’s digital and sustainable development through various collaborations with local agencies. Working with Majlis Perbandaran Alor Gajah (MPAG) and Syarikat Air Melaka Berhad (SAMB), TM One is deploying digital solutions to support the state’s economic growth, public services, and aspirations to become a model smart city. TM One also recently welcomed Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh, Melaka’s Chief Minister, to the TM Response Centre Melaka, one of three facilities that supports emergency responses across Malaysia. The Centre is staffed by over 150 personnel who manage emergency response calls 24/7, ensuring quality control, technical support, and data management. Handling over a million calls every month, the Centre serves as a critical national infrastructure that connects citizens with emergency responders, reinforcing public safety and security. Leveraging the Open Innovation Platform (OIP) and a range of digital tools including Workflow and Job Assignment Software, the solution enables efficient task allocation and tracking for improved metering, restoration, and contractor management. Customised workforce monitoring devices further provide real-time data capture and reporting from on-site locations, improving operational visibility and safety. Additionally, high-speed mobile connectivity supports communication and coordination, ensuring swift task completion and better service quality. Shazurawati concluded, “Our partnership with SAMB highlights the transformative power of technology in essential services, improving efficiency through swift, coordinated responses to critical tasks. By digitalising workforce operations, we are enabling SAMB to improve operational resilience and elevate service standards for the people of Melaka.”
TM One and UMW sign Memorandum of Intent to embark on co-development of digital solutions for industries in Malaysia
TM One, the business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and UMW Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (UMW) today signed a Memorandum of Intent (MoI) on a strategic partnership to develop digital solutions aimed at enhancing and empowering Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) requirements for industries in Malaysia, making it more productive, agile and future-ready. The MoI was signed by Badrul Feisal bin Abdul Rahim, President & Group Chief Executive Officer, UMW Holdings Berhad on behalf of UMW Corporation Sdn. Bhd. and Dato' Noor Kamarul Anuar bin Nuruddin, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM representing TM One. Also present to witness the ceremony was Tan Sri Dato' Sri Hamad Kama Piah bin Che Othman, Group Chairman, UMW Holdings Berhad and Rosli bin Man, Chairman, TM. Through this partnership, TM One and UMW will embark on joint research activities to enable the development of a home-grown Industrial IoT (Internet of Things) platform through the integration of UMW's IoT solution on industrial machines with TM One's IoT Software Platform. UMW and TM One will co-develop an IoT-based digital solutions using respective expertise of the partners; UMW in mechanical machines, IoT sensors and control systems and TM One with its IoT software and analytics. These solutions will be made accessible via the platform's dashboard for UMW's IoT-enabled equipment and machineries such as generators, compressors, pumps, turbines and others which will benefit multiple industries such as Energy and Utilities, Transportation, Real Estate, Commercial and Public Sectors amongst others. The eventual combined UMW-TM IoT solution will provide remote access to machines through real-time monitoring and management system as well as optimise asset management including fleet management, energy management, utilisation and disaster management. Through this collaboration, both parties will leverage on each other's strengths to create greater value and support the growth of Malaysia's technological capabilities.
