Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) through its business solutions arm, TM ONE, recently inked a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) with Huawei. This MoC is in pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between TM and Huawei in March 2018 which outlined the various initiatives between the Parties to promote innovation, develop go-to-market strategies, enhance skills and capabilities as well as to improve each other's products and services. As both TM ONE and Huawei intend to play a more proactive developmental role in providing ready infrastructure and ecosystem to support the nation's growth, specifically to further address digital transformation opportunities in the enterprise and public sectors in Malaysia, this collaboration would allow both companies to further accelerate the upcoming digital transformation era amongst Malaysians by leveraging on the combined strengths and capabilities of each other.

The MoC was signed by both companies during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai 2019. ​

Commenting on the collaboration, Dato' Noor Kamarul Anuar Nuruddin, Group Chief Executive Officer of TM said, "We are excited to be working hand in hand with a leading global name such as Huawei in a strategic partnership programme aimed at addressing the digital transformation opportunities in the enterprise and public sector in Malaysia. This intended collaboration would strengthen our position as the enabler of Malaysia's Digital aspirations with the deployment of applications and solutions for Malaysian homes, businesses and beyond, as encapsulated by our vision, "Making Life and Business Easier, for a Better Malaysia".

Meanwhile, Tian Feng, the member of Huawei Supervisory Board/Senior Vice President said: "Today collaboration between TM ONE and Huawei is further deepened on the basis of last year strategy partnership MoU, and it will help both companies to advance into the future. This collaboration is based on long-term mutual trust between the two organisations and more importantly, complement technology capabilities and strategy for both parties in the enterprise business market. Huawei is confident that it can leverage its advanced technologies such as cloud computing, Big Data, Internet of Things (IoTs), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to complement TM ONE's venture into the market.

Under the MoC, both parties agreed to jointly promote cooperation through a possible joint account planning and mapping exercise of available opportunities, future joint solutioning as well as joint creation of customer value proposition. The focus will be on enterprise segments such as Energy & Utilities, Oil & Gas, Transportation, Public Sector, Education, Manufacturing, Commercial and/or Real Estate in the areas of, amongst other, Cloud, Network, Storage, High Performance Computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet-of-Things (IoTs) and Software Defined Network.

"TM has always been at the forefront of each telecommunication technology evolution in the nation. We also have a long and proven track record in nation-building, coupled with the right expertise and experience to catapult Malaysia into a Digital Nation. This collaboration demonstrates our commitment to realise the national agenda," Dato' Noor Kamarul Anuar concluded.

TM One LEAP Summit 2022 poised to advance next-gen enterprise transformation with world-class innovators

TM One’s annual flagship event LEAP Summit returns for a fifth year, anchoring on the theme ‘Enabling Your Next: Innovate and Transform’ TM One, the enterprise and government sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), held its high-impact annual flagship event, LEAP Summit 2022 today, aimed at propelling enterprise innovation and transformation as Malaysian businesses take advantage of the nation’s initial economic recovery. The fifth in its series, LEAP Summit 2022 themed ‘Enabling Your Next: Innovate & Transform’, brought together world-class digital experts and over 200 of Malaysia’s top decision makers to better understand how these leaders could unleash their innovation potential and take their businesses to the next level. Imri Mokhtar, Group Chief Executive Officer of TM, in his welcoming address said that increased customer expectations for digital services and platforms are reshaping how enterprises work and conduct their business. He also explained that in order to keep up with these new trends, enterprises must fast-track their transformation to virtualised cloud-based services, leverage digital networks to modernise legacy processes, accelerate workflow efficiency, and strengthen cybersecurity. This will improve business offerings and overall customer experience, leading to increased growth and profitability. Kicking off LEAP Summit 2022 was Netflix’s Co-Founding Executive, Mitch Lowe, who emphasised the need for being brave in order to become a leader of the industry and to remain relevant. Having grown with the entertainment industry from video stores and DVD kiosks, to founding one of the most successful over the top (OTT) content services, Lowe shared that the habit of transformation is built by constantly looking to solve the problems faced by the customers and the industry. TM One-UC Tati collaboration to enhance Terengganu’s tech research and development; enables education equity for students in the state

The Master Services Agreement (MSA) between TM & UC TATI will enable the digital transformation initiatives of this state government university college TM One, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia (TM), has signed a Master Services Agreement (MSA) with University College Terengganu Advanced Technical Institute (UC TATI) to provide high speed managed data and Internet services at its Teluk Kalong Kemaman Campus and Kuala Terengganu City Campus respectively, for the benefit and use by the students, lecturers and staff. The partnership, which includes a complete end-to-end package of both Wide Area Network and Local Area Network effectively enables wireless connectivity throughout the campuses, and is part of the Terengganu-based institution's efforts to enhance its digital research and development field, as well as delighting student experiences post pandemic. In particular, TM One’s high-speed Internet services will support the Terengganu Big Data Institute (BDIT) located at UC TATI to conduct research and activities related to public data for the university college and the Terengganu State Government. With this, TM One enables UC TATI to explore new digital technologies such as Cloud-Based Services, Public Data and Disaster Recovery Centres that will enhance student learning as well as potentially serve the local Government and surrounding communities. General Manager of State Sales for TM One, Jamalullail Mohd said, “This agreement symbolises the strong partnership between TM One and UC TATI to provide next gen connectivity services for more contextual teaching and learning experiences to students. The accelerated adoption of digitisation has impacted the lives of Malaysians everywhere, with access to fast and reliable Internet services becoming a necessity in households, workplaces and learning institutions. This collaboration ensures educational equity and equal access to students from all parts of the country and we are pleased to support UC TATI in their transformation.” "This collaboration will also be a catalyst for UC TATI in its digital transformation journey and is among the first steps for us to meet the IR 4.0 revolution. In addition to enhancing our research and development efforts into Big Data and other key technologies, this Internet service will enhance the university's operational efficiency, teaching and learning, and overall student experiences – especially for those who are resident on-campus. Working with TM One enables us to improve our capabilities and the quality of our services in these fields and to bring our institution into the next phase of its growth," explained Professor Dr. Anuar Bin Ahmad, Rector of UC TATI.

JASS smart application from TM one set to empower Johor 4.0 initiatives

New digital platform for Bangsa Johor towards achieving the State’s aspiration of ‘Membina Dekad Baharu’ TM ONE, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) Group, today officially unveiled Johor Application Solution and Services Hub (JASS) smart application towards realising the State Government’s Johor 4.0 initiatives. The unveiling of the smart application took place at the Johor 4.0: Digitalising Bangsa Johor launch event held at the Indoor Arena, EduCity Sports Complex, Nusajaya, Johor. The launching ceremony of Johor 4.0 and unveiling of JASS was graced by YAB Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Chief Minister of Johor. Also present were YB Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Tun Said Keruak, Minister of Communication and Multimedia, Azizi A Hadi, Executive Vice President / Chief Executive Officer, TM ONE and Ahmad Nasri Mohamed, State Vice President, TM Johor. Johor 4.0 is the State Government’s initiative to position Johor as the southern economic powerhouse. It is set to spearhead its digital economy through digitalisation of the State Government and services it offers, as well as the citizens of Johor.  TM, through TM ONE, and Digital Johor Sdn Bhd (DJSB) a State-based company, have collaborated to develop the JASS smart application hub which is set to empower Johor 4.0 initiatives via eight (8) strategic thrusts of Digitalising Bangsa Johor encompassing: • Intelligent Johor – Data Driven Digital Economy • Integrated Intelligent Digital Network & Mobility Infrastructure, • Unified Service Delivery Platform to Rakyat & Tourists, • Trusted & Efficient State Government seen by Private Sector & Rakyat, • Digital Johor Lifestyle – Digital-on-Things (IoT & 4th Industrial Revolution – 4IR), • Digital Johor Halal Hub, • Digital Johor Agropolitan, and • Digital Johor Innovation X-Celerator.
