TM CONFIRMS NO SERVICE DISRUPTION AMIDST GLOBAL TECH OUTAGE LINKED TO CROWDSTRIKE
KUALA LUMPUR, 19 July 2024 - In view of the recent global tech outage linked to a flawed endpoint protection software update issued by a cybersecurity firm, CrowdStrike, which has affected many organisations worldwide, TM wishes to assure our customers and stakeholders that there is no disruption to our business operations and services.
TM has proactively detected this issue and managed it swiftly. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate updates as necessary.

YAYASAN TM COLLABORATES WITH YAYASAN DIRAJA SULTAN MIZAN TO EMPOWER YOUTHS
KUALA LUMPUR, 22 September 2023 – Yayasan TM (YTM) and Yayasan Diraja Sultan Mizan (YDSM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to empower youth from the B40 socioeconomic group with vital digital entrepreneurship skills for them to thrive and compete in the digital market space. The programme costing approximately RM400,000 is shared between YTM, YDSM and Multimedia University (MMU). The collaboration also involved other parties namely Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). The signing of the MoU was graced by the esteemed presence of Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Al-Wathiqu Billah, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin. Dato’ Zainal Abidin Putih, Chairman of YTM said, “Through their involvement in the Siswazah Usahawan Digital Terengganu (SISDIT) programme, the participants can acquire holistic entrepreneurship skills and knowledge while earning them the globally acknowledged digital qualification, International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) Digital Marketing Certification to complete their skill sets. These would greatly benefit them as they enter the job market. YTM remains committed in its efforts to support the nation-building agenda of promoting socioeconomic development among the underserved communities.” YTM was represented by Dato’ Zainal Abidin, while signing on behalf of YDSM was its Board of Trustee member, Dato’ Dr Che Ab Rahim Nik. Meanwhile, MMU was represented by Ir. Prof. Dr. Hairul Azhar Abdul Rashid, Vice President Market Exploration, Engagement and Touchpoints; UMT was represented by its Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Mazlan Abd Ghaffar while UniSZA was represented by its Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Fadzli Adam. Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, Deputy Chairman of YTM who is also the Group Chief Executive Officer of TM was also present to witness the ceremony. As part of the collaboration, YTM embarked on SISDIT, offering digital entrepreneurship training to 27 carefully selected students of UniSZA and UMT. This intensive 20-day training took place at MMU Cyberjaya campus, leveraging on the expertise of MMU Cynergy, a wholly owned subsidiary of MMU. The training modules included digital content development, design thinking, business ethics, e-commerce and business model canvas, to further unleash the potential of the participants in digital entrepreneurship. “Each partner in this collaboration will play significant roles in helping the participants succeed in their entrepreneurial ventures by connecting them to opportunities to foster their digital business's development. We hope their success through this programme will encourage their youth peers to take chances and unleash their full potential for a more sustainable living,” Dato’ Zainal Abidin concluded. To date, YTM’s entrepreneurship-related endeavours, including SISDIT, have benefited over 300 entrepreneurs and created new businesses opportunities for marginalised communities, including B40, asnaf and women, nationwide. In line with YTM’s aspiration as a purpose-driven social impact foundation, this continuous effort aims to nurture individual potential in contributing to the positive socioeconomic through digital and technology solutions for the nation.

A launching ceremony to celebrate the milestone was held at the Resident Office for Mukah Division and graced by Hajah Hamdiah Haji Bakir, the Resident of Mukah Division, together with Jafer Sadig Abdul Lathiff, State General Manager, TM Sarawak and Awang Abdul Khairulannuar, Business Head, TM Sibu. The expansion will also include Jalan Orang Kaya Setiaraja and Jalan Petanak which will receive the service by end of September 2018. Further expansion will cover other areas such as Jalan Medan Setiaraja, Jalan Tellian, Jalan Hj Latip, Jln Kampung Pinang, Jalan Mohammad Fauzi, Taman Pelita Jaya and Jalan Mukah/Oya while other locations will be fiberised by unifi in stages. “In line with the Broadband Improvement Plan, I’m also excited to share that our new unifi package, unifi Basic are now available for everyone at an affordable price of RM79 per month, bringing Malaysia in the group of other neighboring Asian countries (other than City State Countries) which offer fixed high speed broadband of 30Mbps at an affordable price,” Jaffer continued. New unifi Plans unifi is now available with simplified offerings in two (2) new plans to cater to the dynamic needs of all customers. The existing unifi Basic plan which offers the speed of 30Mbps (60GB quota) at RM79 per month is now open for all. Subscription to this plan will come with 17 free channels on playTV@unifi app which can be downloaded on Apple Store or Google Play. unifi offers subsidised mobile internet plans through Jaringan Prihatin Programme
Introduces unifi Mobile 39 postpaid plan, now priced at only RM24 (exclusive of SST) per month with RM15 monthly subsidy from the Government In support of the Jaringan Prihatin programme announced by the Government through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), unifi is offering unifi Mobile 39 postpaid plan and unifi #BEBAS prepaid plan to Malaysians who are eligible for Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat ("BPR"). Understanding the need for fast and efficient data, especially when many need to stay connected constantly in the current digital age, unifi is offering these mobile plans designed to give more value in the form of FREE mobile data to its customers for 12 months. The postpaid plan; unifi Mobile 39, is now priced at only RM24 (exclusive of SST) per month with a RM15 monthly subsidy from the Government. The plan also comes with a whopping additional 30GB LTE data per month on top of the existing 5GB of data quota. Meanwhile, the unifi #BEBAS prepaid starter plan priced at RM10 comes with a 2GB data quota monthly and free 1GB LTE data daily.
