KENYATAAN BERSAMA KEMENTERIAN KESIHATAN MALAYSIA, KEMENTERIAN KOMUNIKASI DAN TELEKOM MALAYSIA BERHAD Article Header

PUTRAJAYA – Next Generation Malaysian Emergency Response Services 999 (NG MERS 999) merupakan sistem kecemasan generasi baharu negara yang dibangunkan untuk menyediakan perkhidmatan lebih pantas, tepat, moden dan inklusif.

Mula beroperasi sejak 16 November 2025, pembangunan sistem ini adalah hasil kerjasama strategik antara Kementerian Komunikasi (KK), Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) dan lima agensi kecemasan utama negara, iaitu:

  1. Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM);
  2. Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM);
  3. Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia (JBPM);
  4. Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (APM); dan
  5. Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (Maritim Malaysia).

KKM, KK dan TM telah menerima laporan berkaitan perkhidmatan ambulans. Walaupun insiden tersebut adalah terpencil, perkara ini ditangani secara serius dan dengan kadar segera kerana setiap panggilan kecemasan melibatkan nyawa dan kesejahteraan rakyat.

Semakan teknikal oleh TM mengesahkan bahawa sistem NG MERS 999 beroperasi seperti biasa, termasuk prosedur penyaluran kes menggunakan prinsip “nearest available” bagi memastikan aset kecemasan terhampir dapat digerakkan secepat mungkin.

Bagi pihak KKM, usaha memperkukuh respons di lapangan terus dipertingkatkan melalui penambahan ambulans, penyusunan semula penugasan petugas di kawasan strategik, serta penglibatan badan sukarela seperti Bulan Sabit Merah Malaysia, St. John Ambulans Malaysia dan pertubuhan bukan kerajaan (NGO) tempatan sebagai sebahagian daripada keupayaan respons kecemasan negara. Penilaian berterusan terhadap keupayaan koordinasi dan ketersediaan aset juga sedang dilaksanakan bersama agensi-agensi berkaitan.

Pada masa sama, Perkhidmatan 999 melalui panggilan suara kekal berfungsi sepenuhnya dan boleh digunakan seperti biasa.

Aplikasi SaveME999 pula berfungsi sebagai saluran tambahan, khususnya untuk pengguna yang memerlukan ciri komunikasi melalui teks, video dan multimedia, selaras dengan usaha meningkatkan keberkesanan dan keterangkuman respons kecemasan negara.

TM akan terus memperkukuh keupayaan sistem dan aplikasi NG MERS 999, termasuk perisian serta proses teknikal yang berkaitan, bagi memastikan prestasi dan pengalaman operasi yang lebih lancar untuk semua agensi kecemasan.

TM Announces Upcoming Change In Chairmanship

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), is pleased to announce the appointment of Dato’ Zainal Abidin Putih as its new chairman effective 1 August 2023. He will succeed Tan Sri Azlan Hashim, who completes his 2-year term on 31 July 2023.   Dato' Zainal Abidin brings a wealth of experience and distinguished track record in the corporate sector. He is currently Chairman of Financial Reporting Foundation (FRF), Land and General Berhad, Touch 'n Go Sdn Bhd and Tokio Marine lnsurans (Malaysia) Bhd, as well as Board Member of Khazanah Nasional Berhad and several private limited companies. He has also previously served as Chairman of Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad, CIMB Bank Berhad, Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB) and President of Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).   As Chairman, Dato' Zainal Abidin will be responsible for overseeing the overall governance and strategic direction of TM. He will work closely with the Board of Directors and management team to drive TM's next wave of growth and strengthen its market position.   Tan Sri Azlan, who shall complete his term as Chairman on 31 July 2023, expressed his confidence in the appointment of Dato' Zainal Abidin and stated, "I am delighted to hand over the reins to Dato' Zainal Abidin. His extensive experience and deep understanding of the corporate sector make him the ideal candidate to lead TM into its next phase of growth. I have full confidence in his ability to guide the company towards greater achievements and new horizons."   Dato' Zainal Abidin expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and said, "I am honored to assume the role of Chairman of TM. TM accorded special Kincentric COVID Resilience Award Malaysia 2020 for its efforts and proactive measures in combating Covid-19 pandemic

The Company received special recognition for its efforts and proactive measures in handling, mitigating and curbing the spread of COVID-19.   ​​​​​Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) was recently awarded the Special Kincentric COVID Resilience Award Malaysia at the Kincentric Best Employers Malaysia 2020 Learning Conference and Award Ceremony which was held virtually. ​ As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, people and organisations face unprecedented new challenges. The special awards recognise companies that have been actively managing the employee experience in the rapidly unfolding COVID-19 crisis; especially for those in critical functions ensuring business continuity and recovery. The judging criteria is based on key themes of Senior Leadership/communication, virtual work effectiveness, concern and engagement on employee wellness; supported by people practices. Badrul Hisham Ahmad, Vice President, Support Business TM who is also the Chairman of TM's COVID-19 Crisis Response Team (CRT) virtually received the award on behalf of TM.  He was also one of the panelists in the sharing session among the winners of the COVID Resilience Award.
