Communications and Multimedia Minister confident with nation’s digital infrastructure after visit to TM Network Operations Centre
Communications and Multimedia Minister, YB Tan Sri TPr Annuar Haji Musa expressed his confidence with the nation’s digital infrastructure to deliver Malaysia’s communications and digital aspirations for now and into the future.
He expressed this after a working visit to the TM Network Operations Centre in Cyberjaya today.
“I’m very happy with the visit today and from what I see, I’m confident that we have the people, capabilities and infrastructure to ensure 100% connection all over the country. We will leave no Malaysian behind,” YB Tan Sri TPr Annuar Haji Musa said after the visit.
TM’s state of the art network operations centre serves as the brains of the nation’s digital and communications infrastructure managing over 600,000 km of communications cables and over 26,700TB data daily.
The centre also monitors the health and operations of the 30 submarine cable systems that carries 1,990TB of internet data into and out of the country.
Commenting on the visit, TM’s Chairman, Dato’ Mohammed Azlan Hashim said, “We are honoured to have YB Tan Sri TPr Annuar and his senior officers from the Ministry and MCMC with us. This visit gives us the opportunity to showcase the various customer segments we serve and the strength of digital technology available and ready to serve our customers.”
“Befitting our unique and important role as the nation’s connectivity and digital infrastructure provider and the enabler of Digital Malaysia, we are ready to serve Keluarga Malaysia with our comprehensive communications and digital solutions. As a Government-Linked Company (GLC), TM remain commited to contribute towards the country's development through telecommunications and digital in support of the country's digital aspirations including JENDELA and MyDIGITAL towards accelerating the country towards a full-fledged Digital Malaysia by 2023,” he added.
The visit today is expected to nurture even closer ties between both parties.

The launch was witnessed by Adiman Ajem, Director of Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Sarawak and Sudarnoto Osman, Chief Executive Officer, Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC). Also present at the event was Jafer Sadig Abdul Lathiff, State General Manager, TM Sarawak. Speaking at the event, YB Datuk Dr. Haji Abdul Rahman said: “We welcome the expansion of unifi to Kampung Boyan, Kampung Gersik and Kampung Surabaya as this signifies TM’s continuous effort to bring high speed broadband connectivity to more areas in Sarawak. This initiative is hoped to boost the growth of local industries such as Kek Lapis Sarawak and Ikan Terubuk Masin, thus promoting digital economy and adoption of a more digital lifestyle amongst the local communities. As Malaysia’s national telecommunications services provider, with its extensive network and expertise, I believe TM is more than capable to facilitate Sarawak’s digital transformation journey.” Meanwhile in his speech, Jafer Sadig said, “As the enabler of Digital Malaysia aspiration, we are excited to deliver our unifi service to Kpg BGS so the residents there can fully utilise the high speed connectivity to cater to their digital lifestyle. This has become more essential as the nation adapts to the new normal in which our activities including work, education, business and leisure have been digitalised. We hoped that the availability of unifi service to more areas will enable Sarawak citizens to reap the benefits of digital communications,” he said. “This expansion also reflects TM’s commitment and support towards the Government’s Jalinan Digital Negara (JENDELA) action plan to deliver connectivity to all. TM CONFIRMS NO SERVICE DISRUPTION AMIDST GLOBAL TECH OUTAGE LINKED TO CROWDSTRIKE
KUALA LUMPUR, 19 July 2024 - In view of the recent global tech outage linked to a flawed endpoint protection software update issued by a cybersecurity firm, CrowdStrike, which has affected many organisations worldwide, TM wishes to assure our customers and stakeholders that there is no disruption to our business operations and services. Netflix Is Now On unifi TV; Bringing Premium Entertainment To Unifi Customers
