TM REVOLUTIONISES DIGITAL HEALTHCARE SERVICES WITH NEXT GEN E-PHARMACY SOLUTION
CYBERJAYA, 14 MARCH 2024 – TM via its Unifi Business segment, today unveiled its latest digital business offering called the e-Pharmacy Solution, a mobile application that enables e-prescriptions via teleconsultation for pharmacists and their walk-in patients. Bundled with Unifi Business’ fixed broadband plans from 100Mbps up to 2Gbps, this offering in collaboration with Teleme Technologies, Malaysia’s leading telemedicine platform, includes access to over 500 licensed healthcare professionals for teleconsultation, e-prescriptions, customised Digital Signature, e-health articles and a repository for patients’ medical records. Harnessing TM’s networks and its approximately 600 nationwide Unifi Business consultants, the offering aims to help pharmacists dispense essential medications and pharmaceutical services, especially among rural and underserved communities. Through e-prescriptions, these communities will be able to access prescribed medications seamlessly, enhancing adherence and improving health outcomes. Launched by Minister of Communications YB Fahmi Fadzil, TM’s e-Pharmacy Solution aligns with the collaboration between the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS) during the Persidangan PEDi MADANI, to accelerate the digitalisation of healthcare services, and bridge the urban-rural gap in equitable access to quality healthcare. This offering is also eligible for the Government’s Geran Digital PMKS Madani (GDPM), ensuring pharmacists from the micro, small and medium enterprise segment (MSME) receive the support they need to embrace digitalisation and enable a more inclusive healthcare system for all Malaysians. Improved Patient Experience: Patients benefit from flexible access to essential prescribed medications, leading to better adherence and health outcomes, which is especially important among underserved or rural communities. Enhanced Medication Management: The application offers robust medication management tools, allowing pharmacists to monitor their inventory and send reminders to patients for medication refills. TM R&D inks MoU with AL-QUDS University to foster industry-academia collaboration for research and innovation excellence in next generation communication technologies
Telekom Research & Development Sdn Bhd (TM R&D), the innovation arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al-Quds University (AQU) to foster industry-academia collaboration for joint research in Next Generation Communication Technologies and to create an institution for innovation and technology transfer. Dr. Sharlene Thiagarajah, Chief Executive Officer, TM R&D, signed the MoU on behalf of TM R&D while AQU was represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Imad Abu Kishek. The agreement was sealed under the support and presence of H. E. Mr. Walid Abu Ali, Ambassador of The State of Palestine to Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand and Maldives. Under the MoU, both entities will join forces to explore research and knowledge exchange activities including staff exchange for scientific works and student visits, in addition to development of impactful digital solutions with a global outlook. Commenting on the latest collaboration, Dr. Sharlene said, “We are excited to have AQU on board as the first university that we’re collaborating with post COVID-19. This MoU is testament of our efforts to work with innovative and entrepreneurial academic institutions to deliver excellence in the field of research and innovation.” “The knowledge sharing and technology transfer between Malaysia and Palestine will definitely boost research capabilities and cross-cultural innovations,” she added. AQU is an academic research university that currently offers more than 120 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, delivered through its 15 degree-granting faculties that cover main scientific disciplines such as medicine, life and natural sciences, business and management, arts and humanities, law and jurisprudence, engineering, computer science, information technology, and social sciences. In addition, AQU pursues educational distinction through a culture of innovation and strives to develop entrepreneurs who are able to partake in the development of the Palestinian economy.
CONSOLIDATION OF TM’S BUSINESS IN MALAYSIA INTO TM TECH TO STRENGTHEN CONVERGENCE LEADERSHIP AND IMPROVE OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY
Following the earlier communication on 14 December 2022, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (“TM”) today announced the internal reorganisation of its business in Malaysia into a single operating entity named TM Technology Services Sdn Bhd (“TM Tech”) following the approval of various bodies, including the High Court of Malaysia and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission. Effective today, 1st March 2023, Telekom Malaysia Berhad will serve as an investment holding company for this single operating entity (TM Tech), along with other wholly owned subsidiaries, covering TM’s international, digital, education, support business and other non-wholly owned subsidiaries. This group in totality will continue to be governed by the current TM’s Board of Directors and managed by the same Senior Management team. The reorganisation into TM Tech – which includes Unifi, TM One and TM Global, amongst others – marks the next phase of TM’s transformation that will reinforce its fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) position, further improve operational efficiencies and deliver a more seamless customer experience. Resource-wise, the reorganisation brings together the diverse talents, facilitating greater cross-functional collaboration and agility through more streamlined and simplified processes. Group CEO of TM, Dato’ Imri Mokhtar explained, “As customer demand, increasing competition and stakeholder expectations reshape the industry, it is timely to consolidate our telco business in Malaysia into a single operating entity that will allow us to serve our diverse customer segments better and quicker, as well as drive operational efficiency.” “We have recently notified all of our valued customers on this internal reorganisation via email and digital letters. At this point, for all payment transactions - the beneficiary name will now be “TM Technology Services Sdn Bhd” instead of “Telekom Malaysia Berhad”. All other payment details remain the same, such as the bank account and JomPAY code,” Imri added. “The success of TM to shape a Digital Malaysia through technology that empowers communities, businesses and Government truly lies in our Warga TM. With majority of Warga TM realigned into this single operating entity, the individual job functions, entitlements and benefits will remain unchanged.
