Fielding Kaamatan Traditions

Tadau Kaamatan festival is the traditional practice of the Kadazan, Dusun and Murut of Sabah which is usually held after the rice harvest. Kaamatan Festival is a special celebration ceremony to honour "Bambarayon" which is the spirit of paddy.

A common practice to honour the spirits is through the protection of tribal shield paintings. Each painting represents a different message and story. So, inspired by the true meaning of Kaamatan and the day's spiritual elements for our #MengukirMalaysia initiative TM has created animated greetings that can be downloaded and sent to your loved ones for a truly special wish.

Harvesting
your Tribal Greetings

Hari Gawai Dayak is a festival celebrated by the indigenous people of Sarawak, especially the Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu such as the Kayan and Kenyah. It is a day to celebrate the new year, marked by the end of the rice harvest season and the beginning of a new rice planting season.

A common way to celebrate Hari Gawai Dayak is through the creation of tribal shield paintings. Each painting tells a different story and has a message that is tagged on to it. Inspired by nature and its spiritual messages, this Hari Gawai Dayak for our #MengukirMalaysia initiative we at TM revitalised tribal paintings by creating animated Gawai greetings based on the true meaning of the holiday itself. These messages can be downloaded and sent to your loved ones.
