​​​​Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today launched MyDIGITAL — the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint aimed to accelerate the country's transformation into a technologically-advanced economy by 2030.

Commenting on the launch of this milestone blueprint, Imri Mokhtar, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer, TM said:

"We would like to congratulate the Government on the comprehensive MyDIGITAL – the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint to accelerate the nation's digital enablers towards a technologically-advanced economy by 2030. It is a holistic approach encompassing digital connectivity (fibre and 5G), digital infrastructure (cloud and cybersecurity) as well as digital skillsets and talents, towards making life and business easier for Malaysians as a connected nation. TM is ready and excited to play a significant part in this accelerated journey.

We would especially like to thank the Government for being the only home-based cloud operator awarded the Cloud Service Provider (CSP) to serve our public sector together with the appointed Managed Service Provider (MSP), as announced by our Prime Minister today.

Today, TM has established itself as a leading end-to-end cloud and data centre service provider that provides data residency, locality and sovereignty in Malaysia – serving both, our public sector and enterprise customers.

In closing, we reiterate TM's support of MyDIGITAL – Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint and other Government's digital and stimulus plans, towards accelerating the socio-economic recovery at this most critical time. TM is committed to accelerating connectivity reach for the Nation via JENDELA

TM supports JENDELA and is an active and major contributor in the nationwide fiberisation effort to greatly improve broadband coverage and quality. The expansion of the fibre network is not limited to home and business premises, but also enables fiberisation of mobile towers to improve the current 4G service quality and next, to expedite 5G roll-out. The current 570,000 km of fibre length across Malaysia is expected to grow rapidly over the next years, in tandem with the JENDELA implementation.

TM continues to strengthen Malaysia's global connectivity and partnership ecosystem with international telcos, content partners and hysperscalers

TM's ever growing global network of more than 20 submarine cable systems spanning 190,000km is ready to support the global connectivity demand of MyDIGITAL. TM enables end-users to access and enjoy a seamless connectivity experience in support of a more digital lifestyle and workstyle, through our strong relationships with global telco and content partners, including hyperscalers.​

TM's support for the 5G Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV)

We laud the bold approach and formation of the 5G SPV that will allow us more focus in rapidly bringing next generation services to our multi-segment customers served by our customer units, unifi and TM ONE. TM will be able to accelerate its convergence offerings to our growing 2.7 million home customers and 400,000 SMEs including micro businesses. For our growing 11,000 enterprise and public sector customers, bringing next generation and IOT solutions to industry verticals like healthcare, education, oil & gas, financial institutions, to name a few. TM is also primed to support the 5G SPV with its 570,000km fibre network nationwide to enable fast and cost effective rollout of the 5G infrastructure.
